The role will sit within the Product Teams within UK Wholesale Digital Channels, reporting into the Product lead.
The team
We’re on a mission to build the most customer-centric banking products, ensuring that the HSBC UK CMB is market leading in its propositions and digital offering.
We’re obsessed with simplifying our customers’ lives while using our financial strength and expertise to help them thrive. The future of banking is digital and we’re developing it.

- Define and manage the drivers of success for our products, including creating measurable key performance indicators across areas ranging from customer satisfaction, risk, product usability to product usage and more
- Produce regular reports and analysis on product performance for senior management
- Understand the regulatory environment for our products, working with second line of defence functions to understand how we keep our products compliant and how we need to adapt to new regulations in a customer centric way
- Ensure our products are well understood by colleagues and use training and internal documentation to ensure this is the case
- Responsibility for the accuracy and content of external facing client literature
- Ownership of the end to end process of our products, including both digital and manual processes and procedures
- Build strong relationships across CMB to ensure buy in for various initiatives we will look to undertake
- Understand gaps in our product offering and work with the Product Team and Programme leadership to ensure these are addressed appropriately on our roadmap
- Where changes to our product are required, ensure these are on the Product Backlog and negotiate appropriate prioritisation with the Product Team Leadership
- Champion our products internally, and ensure that staff across the organisation are aware of our capabilities and encourage these to be reused on other areas where appropriate
- Identify best practice trends in product management and product capability across the industry and use these to influence the ways in which we work
Requirements
- Experience leading and managing financial services products, preferably in the SME Banking segment
- Fantastic proven stakeholder management skills
- Proficient at using data to produce intelligent and thoughtful regular reports on the performance of our products – e.g. Excel, Powerpoint and MI
- Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language
- An ability to work independently and produce excellent results in a proactive way without precise direction
- Comfortable with ambiguity and an ability to structure and project-manage initiatives
- Foresight to anticipate issues, set priorities and deliver a broad range of outputs simultaneously
- A good understanding of the complexities of working across multiple business areas
- A desire to champion digital innovation across the organisation
