Senior Audit Manager

£632.50 PAYE / £811.62 Umbrella (GCB4)

London Canada Square (Hybrid – 1/2 days a week in office)

6 Month Contract

Role Summary:

HSBC are currently searching for a Senior Audit Manager to join their team. Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning. HSBC are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Senior Audit Manager, Global Internal Audit - Finance Audit – Resolvability Assessment Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Role Responsibilities:

  • Participate in individual RAF related audits to ensure that the scope, approach, resourcing and logistics of the audits are appropriately planned, executed and finalised. 
  • Coordinate Continuous Monitoring activities for RAF capabilities, including engagement with other global GIA teams participating in RAF.
  • Produce periodic Continuous Monitoring reports summarising progress and status of the RAF capabilities.
  • Obtain, analyse and synthesise information for reporting on the adequacy of the internal control environment, and management actions.
  • Work effectively with multiple stakeholders such as Global Finance, Risk, the wider audit function, relevant control functions and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that audit assignments are completed in a timely and efficient manner with due respect to the standards established by Global Internal Audit, industry best practices and the relevant risk and regulatory environment.
  • Ensure that the results of the work performed meet the expectations of audit and business management and regulators.

Key Experience / Skills:

Experience and skills that are required for this role are as follows:

· Experience working in relevant environments, such as External Audit, Internal Audit, Finance, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting or Risk Management functions. In particular, experience of first, second line or third line roles roles in respect of one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Resolution and Recovery Plans, Capital Management, Asset and Liability Management (ALM) and Stress Testing.

·  Strong managerial skills, problem solving, organisational and interpersonal skills.

·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.

· Broad knowledge of financial services industry, businesses supported and the regulatory framework they operate in. An understanding of major global regulatory frameworks, financial reporting standards, prudential risk management, and related compliance requirements.

·  Role relevant qualifications, such as ACA, CPA or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
