HSBC are currently looking for a graduate to join their Valuations and analytics team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate to join a rotation scheme working for a Top Tier Bank.

The Valuations and Analytics Group in Product Control is a global team responsible for all aspects of the calculation of fair value for traded instruments in Global Markets (predominantly a 2nd LoD function) and additionally undertakes oversight and support for fair value calculations across the rest of HSBC Group (predominantly Global Banking and Corporate Centre).

The role is part of the Global Valuations and Analytics team where candidates will be given the opportunity to work in the complex valuations space supporting Markets in all the major asset classes of Fixed Income, Equities, GFX, Private equity and Banking loans. It is anticipated that the candidate will spend no more than 9 months in a particular asset class and will spend at least 24 months gaining valuable experience across different asset classes. It is anticipated that the candidate will wish to pursue a management or post graduate qualification via part time programs with HSBC support.

The candidate will be responsible for the calculation of Independent Price Verification, Bid/Offer and other Fair Value Adjustment associated to the various businesses. The individual will also contribute to Levelling and Prudent Valuation Adjustments (PVA).

Additionally, it can be expected that the individual will develop a deeper understanding of the various financial markets products and the requirements regulators and supervisors are now making of the Financial Industry. Qualification:

Graduate or Master’s degree from a numerate discipline

Experience:

Demonstrable interest in Financial Markets

Market derivative knowledge

Ability to build effective professional relationships through collaboration and influencing skills.

Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate key issues to Senior Stakeholders in a non-technical manner.
