PROJECT MANAGER - AGILE SCRUM MASTER

Location - London - Hybrid 1-2 days in office a week

Daily Rate - 500 - 550 PAYE - 641 - 705 UMBRELLA

Start Date - ASAP


Role purpose

 

The People Strategy Agile Project Manager is a member of the Finance COO team, with responsibility for contributing to and supporting the Finance People Strategy plan. The role holder will work as part of an integrated, flexible team that uses agile working methods to support a wide range of programmes and initiatives.

 

The role holder is expected to have experience of project and programme management at HSBC, ideally including starting up new work streams from scratch, building metrics, defining governance and cadence for work packages. Both BAU and project work will be delivered using agile, therefore someone with Scum Master experience is preferred.

 

The role holder will report into the People Strategy Lead for Finance, and will work with Global and Regional COOs on a regular basis. 


Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

· Working with the People Strategy Team and Global Finance COO, develop a one, two and three-year plan to deliver the People Strategy for Finance.

· Manage BAU and project work using agile practices, monitoring via Jira.

· Run Agile Ceremonies for BAU and project teams, scheduling meetings, ensuring they adhere to best practice and monitoring and managing task through Jira.

· Collaborate with Global Finance Communications, to ensure this plan is integrated with the wider Communications Plan for Finance.

· Collaborate with other CoEs in HSBC (e.g. HR) to ensure the Finance People Plan dovetails with group activities.

· Set up and agree governance structures and ways of working (including cadence and reporting) for core team members and agile pods.

· Working with the People Strategy Team and Global Finance COO, define metrics (OKRs/KPIs) for flagship programmes and individual initiatives and measure and track progress against them.

· Contribute to the creation of a prioritisation framework to support the wider People Strategy team in identifying key priorities and work which can be paused or stopped.

· Flag any potential reputational risk, issues and opportunities with the People Lead and Director of Communications. 

Leadership & Teamwork 

· A key member of the People Strategy Team with links to the digital content team in Krakow and regular engagement with the Global and Regional Finance COOs.

· Build strong relationships with a wide range of networks and communities, becoming the trusted advisor for People and Communications support.

· Adopt agile team ways of working to ensure collaborative, outcomes-focused approach to delivering multiple global projects and campaigns.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues across HSBC and Global Finance, particularly the Finance COO community, the People Ambassadors and local People Committees, to ensure seamless delivery of priority programmes.

· Build strong relationships with the extended network of sponsors, ambassadors.


 

Functional Knowledge

• Proven track record project and project management, ideally in HSBC

• Experience as an Agile Scrum Master

• Ability to translate a people strategy into a plan and tactical actions

• Outcome-focused, data led and willingness to challenge the status quo

• Experienced in the BTF and or Agile Methodologies

• Excellent planning, organising and execution skills

• A resilient self-starter capable of driving an agenda on a virtual/remote basis

• Strong personal communication and influencing skills; willing to challenge the status quo

• Highly effective in working with all levels of the management and staff in a matrix environment

• Operates well across cultures and in multi-cultural diverse work environments

• Ability to leverage resources across the Group to achieve goals and Interest in people led change, HR or cultural transformation is preferable

Preferable experience of working with the Financial Services Industry and / or a communications or people focused role
