IDLM Operations Lead            

Up to £520/Day PAYE - £667/Day Umbrella

Cash & Liquidity Management (CaLM) are a Treasury Services function which sits within Markets Security Services Operations. They are responsible for funding HSBC’s nostro accounts and providing accurate and timely cash projections to Markets Treasury on a daily basis. Other key Cash Management processes include balance substantiation, ODI and Fails management. Its secondary responsibility is for Intra-Day Liquidity Management (IDLM). Key responsibilities include monitoring material nostros intra-day, flagging any potential liquidity stresses or incidents, nostro liquidity transfers, intraday liquidity analytics and Regulatory Reporting.

CaLM have secured funding for 2022 to upgrade systems, automate feeds and eradicate manual processes in relation to their Intra-Day Liquidity responsibilities. The Intraday Liquidity project sits under the Liquidity programme and is comprised of deliveries supported by various funding sources; The GT2025 programme, The Resolvability Assessment Framework Programme and Markets and Securities Services CTB. 

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Operations Lead.

 

Role Purpose / Day to Day:

 

The Ops Lead role is required to drive the end-to-end project management of initiatives across Intraday Liquidity. This includes:  

·      Defining and owning the Workstream plan covering all Intraday Liquidity initiatives, including those funded by other programmes. This includes project planning, resource planning, and dependencies management

·      Drive the delivery of the Workstream to agreed plan across the component programmes.

·      Manage the resourcing and financials of the Workstream according to agreed headcount and budget

·      Identify and manage dependencies with other teams delivering into the Workstream plan. This includes dependencies to partner functions (e.g. HOST team, Operations team) and other programmes

·      Working with the Programme Office to establish effective project controls for the Workstream

·      Reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to programme leadership and steering committees as appropriate and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation

·      Provide visible leadership to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across Global Treasury

 

Ultimately the Ops Lead will be responsible for maintaining momentum on all initiatives, escalating concerns, issues and delays, progressing the CaLM roadmap and providing updates and packs to the WG, PSC and Central Project Governance Forums.

 

 

Experience

·     Degree level education preferably with a professional qualification and with substantial experience (ideally 10 years) in a markets business or related industries either within HSBC or with a relevant market competitor.

·    Project Experience across both internal reporting and regulatory requirements, with experience of Liquidity, IRRBB or Capital Management systems and processes

·    Experience in change management, driven by IT systems implementation or enhancement, across a large organisation is a must

·    Experience in people management is highly preferable

·    Experience in communications and providing information to senior stakeholders (mininum to Managing Director level) is a must.

·    Strong Project Management skill covering the whole project lifecycle from initiation to closure

·    Strong understanding of Cash & Liquidity Management, Treasury or Markets Treasury or ALCM business, with ability to translate complex concepts into programme artefacts 

·    Good understanding of systems and data architecture in Finance environments, with ability to bridge the communication between business stakeholders and Technology team

·    Strong execution and problem solving skills

·    Strong stakeholder management skills

·    Ability to present information in a professional manner, including preparing documents for review by C-level audiences

·    Excellent written and verbal communication skills to Senior Management audiences

·    Personal ownership of target and resolution of issues

·    High degree of motivation and commitment

·    Ability to deal with change in role and working environment

·    Team player and able to manage conflict and conflicting priorities

·    Ability to provide direction to more junior colleagues

·    Ability to drive delivery in a changing landscape
