Job title – Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager, Risk Transformation

Location – London, Canary Wharf/Remote

Rate – Up to £522.50 PAYE or Umbrella £670

Start date – ASAP

Contract – 6 months


Our financial services client is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager, Risk Transformation to join their team in the London office/remote working, this contract will initially be for 6 months.

 

Traded Risk Transformation teams are responsible for the delivery of end-to-end projects across market risk. Senior Business Analysts are at the centre of how Global Transformation shapes, delivers and embeds change working with the business and our delivery partners.  

 

Primarily, the Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for managing and executing the analysis activity within one or more of the priority programmes. They will support the Requirements Management, Design, Change Management, and Implementation Management activities during project delivery. Business Analysts often act as experts across multiple projects and programmes simultaneously, guiding the various teams through the various phases.  

 

Alongside project delivery responsibilities, the Business Analyst will work closely with the Project Management Office, Process Consultants and Business Consultants to ensure analyst resources are utilised effectively and resource supply meets the needs of upcoming project demand.

 

The initial assignment for this role will on a Libor Transition Program where the role holder will focus on Global requirements and delivery of the strategic infrastructure and new operating model. This will require the role holder to work on time series data and Market Risk shocks and scenarios for VaR and some Stress Testing.

 

 

Vision of the change in LIBOR Transition program

 

•                 The LIBOR Transition program is a front office funded project and there is global industry-wide consensus to move away from referencing LIBOR rates by the end of 2021 and to adopt a new suite of risk-free rate curves (RFRs) and associated products from 2019 to 2021

•                 There is global industry-wide consensus to move away from referencing IBOR rates by the end of 2021

•                 Adopt a new suite of risk-free rate curves (RFRs) and associated products from 2019 to 2021.

•                 Enable trading in financial products based on the new RFRs (SOFR, SONIA, €STR, SARON, TONAR, etc.) in a manner and timeframe consistent with FO. 

•                 Cover all The Bank’s sites and all RFRs (including on-shore & off-shore IR curves) based on Front Office.

 

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications 

•                 10+ years in Investment Banking, Program Management and Business analysis.

•                 To work independently without too much supervision or guidance from PM / Senior BAs in the global teams 

•                 Experience with large regulatory program IBOR, BASEL III, FRTB or implementation of equivalent regulations

•                 Experience of managing deliverable across multi market and counterparty risk components / functions program Confidence in communication internally at all levels; candidate will be dealing with Front Office, Middle office, Traded Risk management, Product Control, Quants and Technology teams daily who are both business and technically sophisticated. 

•                 Domain knowledge in both Market Risk and Counterparty Risk and asset classes and their implications in terms of market risk & traded counterparty risk. Specifically looking for experience/exposure in IR /FX / EQ and/or Credit asset classes

 

Project Manager and Business Analyst Experience

•                 good knowledge and experience of traded risk management gained through project implementation or systems development in an IT or change delivery function.

•                 Strong problem-solving skills, data analysis, basic knowledge of database query and Hands on experience of software and systems testing

•                 Proven and demonstrable track record in risk business analysis and project delivery under Agile method

•                 Strong problem-solving skills, data analysis, use of MS Office, Visio, and basic knowledge of SQL.  

•                 Hands on experience of software and systems testing.

•                 Attention to details and investigative skills  

•                 Understanding of core project management activities and process, defined under PMI and Prince.

•                 MS project and PMO tools such as Open Work Bench or similar tools for project management support, planning, risks, and issues tracking.

•                 Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills including extensive experience of interaction with senior management

•                 Experience in working with senior stakeholders and presenting complex scenarios using visualisation tools to support decision making.

•                 Release and UAT experience

 

•       Counterparty Risk Domain knowledge

•       Counterparty credit risk and collateral Management practices including understanding of simulation, pricing, aggregation and understanding of ISDA documentation

•       Understanding of those factors affecting credit risk management, its systems, processes, and functions.            

•                 Credit Risk measures (e.g PD/LGD/EEPE/EE/OEM/CEM). & Calculation methodology (e.g., PFE/VaR/CVA VaR) 

§    Market’s infrastructure, including trading systems and deal flows globally. 

§    End to end processes relating to trade booking, risk, Finance and Product Control. 

§    Trade events and how they affect credit risk. 

§    Credit Risk business processes 

•       Market Risk Domain knowledge

•       Understanding of market risk management (sensitivities, VAR, stress testing,)

•       Knowledge of asset classes and their implications in terms of market risk. Specifically looking for experience/exposure in IR /FX / EQ and/or Credit asset classes.

•       Asset classes and their implications in terms of market risk. o Very strong understanding of market risk measures used for risk management. 

•       Strong business analysis experience in Market risk context

•       Exposure to market risk reporting platforms and to risk engines

•       Asset Control or equivalent Market Data tool

•                 Experience of querying aggregation CUBES of very large volumes of market risk measures across multiple dimension

 

Educational Requirements

•                 The candidate will be ideally educated to degree level in a numerate subject.

•                 Degree in Business Information Systems or a related field

•                 Degree in business administration / management / economics, engineering, and science 

•                 Knowledge of accounting and finance

•                 Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) - the ability to communicate efficiently at a   global level is paramount

•                 Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) - Optional

•                            Lean Six Sigma Black Belt – Optional

 

Knowledge

•                 IBOR, BASEL III, FRTB regulation or has worked on implementation of equivalent regulations

•                 Regulatory framework for Central Clearing Counterparties, BCBS Margining requirement on unclear derivatives and Risk Based Margining

•                 Expert knowledge of Global Transformation Business Transformation Frameworks, methodologies, and best practice techniques

•                 A thorough understanding of the purpose, values, culture, and fundamentals of Global Transformation

•                 Understanding of the Bank’s Group structures, processes, and objectives

•                 Very strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.

•                 Business re-engineering knowledge

•                 Advanced Business analysis, requirements gathering and design techniques

•                 Advanced Change management and implementation management techniques and approaches
