Senior Pension Administrator.


Payrate - £220/day PAYE - £282/day Umbrella

Location - Remote (Will move into a hybrid model at some point, 1 -2 days a Week in Whiteley office)

Contract duration - 7 Months


The Senior Pension Administrator - based within Retirement Services - WBS.


The role of Senior Pension Administrator - Retirement Services Wealth Business Services is to be responsible for

completing the administration on HSBCs Self-Invested Personal Pension. In additional to your main responsibility,

you will work closely with management and team members on role specific tasks, including but not restricted to

the end to end process of crystallising benefits including performing calculations, all client servicing activities together with the claims element of a Money Purchased Personal Pension. This role requires a great level of inter-personal skill for managing expectations of HNW clients, internal and external advisors therefore delivering a best in best class of client service is paramount to HSBC.


Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that the successful candidate has a demonstrable background in SIPP

administration and has above average technical knowledge, including the FCAs rules in relation to client money,

client assets, mandates. Possess in-depth knowledge of pension legislation and procedures and has the manual

calculations experience to be able to produce and check work accurately. You will also need to have knowledge of training and checking work of junior colleagues and be willing to get involved / leading in ad-hoc projects.

  • Small pots, income and PCLS payments
  • Transfer out (cash / in-specie)
  • Death investigation / Trustee recommendations
  • Pension Sharing Orders
  • Day to day pension management/servicing
  • Coaching and training junior and new team members
  • Work allocation
  • Reviewing and up-dating procedures with close liaison with various internal teams
  • Appropriate escalation of issues to management e.g. those that have regulatory/reputational/financial risk
  • To continually consider and execute the FSA's principle of 'Treating Customers Fairly' (TCF).


Qualifications


The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience working in pension administration obtained through a Self-Invested
  • Personal Pension. Knowledge of SSAS, Sections 32s, Executive Personal Pensions would be advantageous
  • Experience working with Delta's SIPP~Pro software is essential
  • Being both pre-active and reactive to business needs, initiating actions/processes to answer those needs
  • To proactively manage internal and external customer, internal and external adviser queries and enquiries
  • Building and maintaining positive relationship with scheme members
  • Management of client records, office systems and procedures
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and self-motivating abilities
  • Ability to work on their own initiative as well as being able to identify when it is necessary to seek advice and support
