Business Analyst – General Ledger
Rate: Umbrella: £706.38
Location: Hybrid - London – 1 day a week
Duration – 6 months contract with the possibility of extensions
Role Summary:
HSBC are currently recruiting a Business Analyst with experience in general ledger looking at reconciliation of operational risk losses and recovered to the general ledger.
Key Responsible
• Solution design for finance reconciliation process with key internal risk systems, in conjunction with Risk stakeholders
• Assessment of ledger information (Appropriateness, Accessibility/Availability)
• Facilitate automate GL data flow in conjunction with Risk Systems
• Design and Development of Reconciliation engine, inclusive of reconciliation User Acceptance Testing
• Documentation of Finance Processes, Policy updates and Training roll out
• Standard Project Management activities, including presenting at various forums
Knowledge and Experience:
• Prior global regulatory change project / programme experience within Finance
• Understanding of full project lifecycle from requirements through to implementation within a regulatory change programme
• Awareness of cross-finance processes, systems architecture, operating models, Data management including Data lineage, Data Modelling and Data Controls
• Experience with General Ledger Data and reconciliations
• Knowledge of Finance systems at sub ledger and consolidated level
• Worked on previous finance reconciliation enhancement programmes, desirable
• Previous experience of working in Operational Risk or associated teams, desirable
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills with attention to detail
• Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to work under pressure, report to tight deadlines and deal with arising issues effectively
• Ability to coordinate and converse with wider groups / teams and senior stakeholders
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• Good SQL knowledge, desirable
