Legal Due Diligence BA

Rate: PAYE: Umbrella: £763.89

Location: Hybrid - London – 2 day a week

Duration – 6 months contract with the possibility of extensions

Role Summary:

HSBC are currently recruiting a Legal Due Diligence BA who shall be responsible for to produce loan portfolios for review by a professional legal team. The legal Business Analyst will work collaboratively with the Legal Due Diligence PM/BA hybrid role, ensuring implementation of the strategy is driven with the appropriate swiftness, structure, governance, and traceability. Delivery will span teams across Global Treasury, Legal, and Regional Stakeholder Groups.

The role holder will require significant experience in either the legal field or loan data analysis with good knowledge of liquidity and funding, understand key liquidity measures as per the Group Framework (ILM, LCR, NSFR, PRA110, and other secondary monitoring metrics), Bank financial systems, related business areas, products and their strategic drivers.

Key Responsible

• Build and manage key relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders

• Understand stakeholders' objectives, direction, priorities and challenges, managing and addressing concerns and objections.

• Influence and collaborate with stakeholders to build consensus and shape change outcomes.

• Build stakeholder buy in to detailed plans, key commitments and changes against baseline as they arise.

• Build strong relationship with other programme teams and BAU teams with dependencies into/out of the workstream

• Provide leadership to resolve design and delivery issues

• Work within matrix structure to manage project deliverables outside direct control and to appropriately influence priorities

• Promote a culture of continuous innovation, challenge the business on approach and apply knowledge of relevant latest developments

• Define detailed responsibilities and objectives for team members and manage performance

• Provide regular constructive feedback and coaching to more junior team members

• Assess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business.

• Work with the wider Global Treasury governance function.

• Ensure that controls and non-functional risk aspects of the programme are identified, appropriately documented and exceptions are tracked with agreed resolution date

• Ensure that Second Line of Defense and Risk Stewards are engaged in the Workstream as appropriate

• Establish effective project controls and procedures for the Workstream

• Ensure that the Workstream complies with HSBC Change Framework

• Legal due diligence project has a wide scope with multiple deliverables across the short, medium and long terms. The role holder will need to be comfortable working across multiple initiatives and time-horizons.

• Need to be conscious of wider change taking place across the business and understand the impact of processes and timescales for deployment.

• Working in a matrix environment which can be challenging when addressing ownership of tasks and issues.

• Managing expectations of multiple stakeholders across the teams.

• Working in an ever-changing environment where priorities can change without warning and need to pivot and shift efforts to where they will have most impact.

• More generally, the implementation of this programme is highly dependent on other teams both within Global Treasury and its partner functions. The role holder needs have a strong capability in identifying and managing interdependencies between the teams.

Knowledge and Experience:

• The role holder will have good knowledge of Collateral Management within the context of liquidity and funding with Treasury.

• Specifically product knowledge within Loan product type.

• Ability to present information in a professional manner, including preparing documents for review by C-level audiences

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to C-level audiences

• Personal ownership of target and resolution of issues

• Team player and able to manage conflict and conflicting priorities

• Ability to provide direction to more junior colleagues

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Financial services and project delivery.

• Experience delivering legal projects and therefore understand of the specific challenges that could be faced during delivery

• Project management experience in Group Treasury.

• Experience in change management, driven by IT systems implementation or enhancement, across a large organisation, including agile delivery frameworks.

• Experience in people management is highly preferable.

• Strong people management and communications skills, providing information to senior stakeholders effectively
