Job Title: Global Optimisation Engineer Manager

Location: Hybrid/London

Rate: Competitive rate per day via an approved umbrella company

 

The PWS & Content team sits within the Group Retail Banking & Strategy team and is responsible for managing HSBC’s public websites (PWS) for Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) globally.

The Global Optimisation team sits as part of the PWS & Content team and is responsible for the optimisation of content and design across HSBC’s public websites globally.

The Global Optimisation Engineering Manager is an important role within the Global Optimisation team, with responsibility for supporting ASP markets with test builds.

Taking a day to day lead from the Global Optimisation Engineering Lead, the Global Optimisation Engineering Manager will play an important part in ensuring that tests are built to the highest standards and in a timely fashion. The role holder will work closely with a variety of colleagues on the build and delivery of tests, including (but not limited to) the Global Optimisation Manager for ASP, the Senior Product Manager for ASP, as well as colleagues from a Copywriting and a UX/Design background.

The role holder should have proven coding experience in front end development, as well as knowledge of responsive coding technology, experience of cross-browser and cross-device testing and web debugging & troubleshooting.

 

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

Requirements

•    Must have coding experience in HTML, CSS, vanilla JavaScript, JS Libraries, AJAX, JSON

•    Knowledge of responsive coding technology and working with DOM layout

•    Experience of cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure bug-free test delivery.

•    Web debugging & troubleshooting. Knowledge of how browsers, cookies, storage, HTTP protocols work

•    Experience/understanding SPA applications

•    Comfortable talking technology with software engineers and QA / Test Engineers.

Preferences

•    Experience using different CRO testing and analytics tools (Optimizely , Adobe Target, Google Optimize, VWO, Oracle Maxymiser, Webtrends, Google Analytics).

•    Working experience within retail banking

•    Understands the mechanics and best practices around user-interface and product design (both UX and UI) and knows how to balance brand guidelines with customer experience to maximise conversion and engagement.

•    Strong technical knowledge on technical requirement gathering

•    Experience of MS Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

•    Experience of working with behavioral and attitudinal segments and identify patterns on our digital properties and performance via both onsite and offsite channels.

•    Strong team player, highly collaborative
