Job Title: Senior Optimisation Specialist

The Senior Optimisation Specialist will be responsible for driving hypothesis generation, AB testing implementation, configuration and management across all HSBC's international consumer-facing websites.

As part of the Global Public Web Services team, the Senior Optimisation Specialist, will be working with squads of Product Owners, UX'ers and Content Strategists to create and refine customer journeys, products and experiences that our customers love. Responsibilities include insight and analysis, hypothesis generation, testing roadmap strategy and management and end-to-end test implementation and results reporting.


Role Context:

•    The role sits within the Global Public Web Services team who are driving digital performance for DMES Markets as well as differentiated experience for HSBC customers.

•    HSBC is and has invested heavily in Digital capabilities in many areas of the business, there is a growing need to increase the number of specialists we have to develop our strategic optimisation capabilities to compliment these investments.

•    The role holder is responsible for delivering high quality data driven insights for our Global PWS team so they may drive drive digital performance across all our Public Websites globally.

•    The global nature of the role requires the ability to support and engage with cross-functional teams from multiple markets and balance the need for regionalisation with the drive to develop a global Public Website that can be scaled and operated internationally.

•    The nature of the role may require some travel from time to time and flexibility in daily schedule to allow for regular interaction with team members and stakeholders from all regions.


Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

•    Excellent hands-on digital CRO skills with proven ability to review customer journeys, funnel analysis and content performance data, identify key trends and opportunities, putting forward hypotheses and delivering recommendations.

•    Understands the mechanics and best practices around user-interface and product design (both UX and UI) and knows how to balance brand guidelines with customer experience to maximise conversion and engagement.

•    Excellent Numerical and Presentation skills.

•    Excellent Optimisation skills.

•    Proven knowledge across a range of CRO research and testing tools (Google Analytics, VWO, Optimizely, with a particular focus on Adobe Target).

•    Experience of working in an extended Product Team to drive roadmaps and development activity.

•    Strong knowledge of quantitative optimization techniques.

•    Strong knowledge of customer journey optimisation and insight-driven hypothesis generation.

•    Strong technical knowledge on technical requirement gathering.

•    A good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript (JQuery a bonus) and is comfortable talking technology with software engineers and QA / Test Engineers.

•    Experience of mentoring and developing junior members of staff and providing a framework for their career development.

•    Strong experience of MS Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

•    Experience of working with behavioral and attitudinal segments and identify patterns on our digital properties and performance via both onsite and offsite channels.

•    Good awareness of digital channels, including technical, commercial, market place and customer considerations.

•    Strong communication skills for navigating through business requirements, ability to involve others in discussions, asking for their suggestions and steering them to a mutually acceptable position.

•    Innovative – the ability to approach things differently or do different things to deliver goals.

•    Awareness of the Multi-Channel interactions and the ability to balance effectiveness in Digital channel with multichannel impact.

•    Strong team player, highly collaborative
