In House Tax Accountant (Tax Reporting)

London (Hybrid)

6–9-month contract

£770.59 p/d Umbrella 



Requirements / Skills & Experience  


Tax reporting 

• Enhance Tax reporting workbook/check list/process to align to group reporting requirements and    HINV's control environment 

• Reviewing monthly tax reporting workpaper for entity level reporting 

• Reviewing monthly tax provision EUC generated from ledger for the entity

• Reviewing and implementing monthly tax journals 

• Attest and review reconciliation of tax ledgers in FTP

• Ability to provide tax technical view for direct tax reporting and tax returns compliance.

 

Statutory accounts audit

• Reviewing tax provision workpaper and tax disclosure notes to Annual Statutory accounts

• Updating memo of uncertain tax treatments IFRIC23

• Maintaining tax risk logs for the purpose of UTP and UTT

• Experienced in managing dialogue with auditor e.g. auditor's queries, comments, and leading technical discussion 

• Strong tax accounting technical knowledge and ability to interpret and apply tax accounting standards e.g. IAS12 

 

Tax compliance

• Reviewing tax payment calculation and ensure all filings and payments are executed

• First review of tax return prepared by external advisor

 

Qualification/Experience

Must be a qualified accountant e.g. ACCA, ICAEW. CTA is a bonus and not required.

Must have experience from multi-national financial service industry

Strong tax accounting knowledge

Tax output /Tax environment


• Adherence to the tax reporting processes and ensuring high quality delivery, as well as escalation, incident management, and stakeholder management around reporting.

• Ensure that the outputs are of a high quality and prepared in accordance with accepted tax and accounting policy.

• Responsible for monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of the controls over the reporting processes and ensuring that control design is in line with HSBC’s control framework and complies with all requirements (such as SOX).

• Lead various tactical and strategic initiatives to improve the quality of regulatory reporting and enhance the control environment as part of internal remediation programmes 

• Accurate and timely delivery of all BAU local and HSBC group tax reporting requirements including tax disclosure notes under local consolidated statutory IFRS/local GAAP financial statements (Annual Report & Accounts and Interim Report) and any regulatory reporting.
