We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of XVA – TWD Valuations Analyst


Role Context:


The PC Valuations Group is part of Global Product Control and undertakes three main activities: Valuations, Global Valuation Reporting & Quantitative Analysis.

  • The Role is within the XVA Valuations team with a focus on the KVA/exit cost stream of the regulatory programme; Trading Wind Down (“TWD”). The Valuations team is 1st line of defence for XVA adjustments in financials, which covers Independent Price Verification (IPV), Fair Value Adjustments (FVA) and Prudent Valuation Adjustments (PVA) or calculation of the XVA itself in some locations. This role will entail;Contribute to XVA Valuations’ interaction in relation to Trading Activity Wind Down (TWD) with Front Office, Finance, Risk and programme managers
  • Analysis & engagement on tactical solution for allocation of counterparty first order KVA estimates to trade level in order to feed into TWD segmentation tool platform.
  • Contribution & challenge to strategic solution implemented by Group Risk Analytics for a holistic KVA framework and its first order representation for Counterparty Credit Risk capital.
  • Streamlining/enhancement of processes to produce the dynamic cuts of FVA/PVA to meet TWD requirements
  • Support of the XVA value stream’s continued roll-out of upstream XVA strategic architecture to global sites and expansion of the fair value framework to additional risk factors
  • Provide cover for some of the Valuations team members. (IPV, FVA, SA-CVA)
  • Contribute to internal projects in XVA valuation framework
  • Preparation of appropriate Management Information for the tracking workstream progress


Experience / Skills required:

  • Qualification:Graduate in a relevant numerical field (i.e. Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering etc), with professional qualifications (CFA, ACA, FRM, CQF etc). 
  • Will also consider graduates with strong & demonstrable experience of analysis in XVA/SWD/TWD.
  • Experience:Demonstrable track record in global bank/financial institution or relevant organisation.
  • Knowledge of Markets business & support functions, preferably in Product Control with proven experience of PC, Quant or Risk roles.
  • Experience in complex projects, regulatory deliveries, qualitative business analysis and driving project outcomes
  • High level derivative knowledge across asset classes, with experiences of assessing trades or primary trading systems.
  • Experience of Derivatives Valuation Framework (Discounting /Curve constructions/Pricing Models).
  • Experience of developing methodology and shaping policy for IPV / FVAs is a distinct advantage.
  • Good understanding and appreciation of Regulatory requirements and guidelines for Valuation activity.
  • Business Analysis on large data sets, with critical thinking and analytical problem solving.
  • Proven experience in a field requiring numerical proficiency.
  • Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-culturally diverse work environments.
  • Experience of interacting with internal and external stakeholder groups (Business, Risk, Audit, Programme Management).
  • Skills:Strong Analytical background and high-level understanding designing processes.
  • Proactive and organised self-starter, with an ability to quickly grasp complex topics.
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of seniority through collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate key valuation issues to Senior Stakeholders in a non-technical manner.
