Overview:
Low Latency Linux Engineer
Purpose of the Job:
The eRisk team is responsible for the for the FX electronic trading business, providing infrastructure and services for pricing, trading and risk management.
We are seeking an experienced engineer to join an established development team to assist with managing the infrastructure, performance analysis and tuning of the existing applications and infrastructure.
Responsible For:
Designing, implementing and maintaining low latency co-located infrastructure. Ensuring that the appropriate metrics are being collected and analysing the data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Design, test and implement changes to reduce application and infrastructure latency.
Working with third party vendors and exchanges to ensure new features / functionality are optimally designed and tested.
Help to diagnose and resolve performance issues within the production environment.
ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS (Experience, skills, competencies etc)
Linux kernel expertise and tuning skills
Understanding of hardware layer of software execution stack (CPU components, QPI/NUMA, RDIMM, TLB, ultra-low latency network adapters)
Deep understanding of networking (all OSI layers, expertise in TCP and UDP), familiarity with PTP
RHEL7/8 server administration and patching
Experience with configuration management and automation tools (puppet, ansible etc)
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQCUIRMENTS (Experience, skills, competencies etc)
Foreign Exchange, Co-location and ECN experience
Experience with third party middle ware 29 West / Ultra Messaging and RMDS / TREP
Knowledge of Kx/KDB
Familiarity with FIX protocol
Experience using Azul Zing
