London/ Hybrid – very flexible

£600 PAYE, £779 Umbrella per day (Negotiable)

12 Month Contract – Likely Extensions and possibility of permanency


Our client HSBC are currently seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join their team in the London office/remote working, this contract will be for 12 months with a review to be extended and the possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.


The Opportunity:

At the core of HSBC’s global business, Markets Treasury plays a crucial role in managing cash, liquidity, funding and interest rate risk for each entity in compliance with Group and regulatory norms. 


Finance Change Delivery (IRRBB) supports Markets Treasury in designing and implementing key strategic initiatives across the globe for interest rate risk transfer and reporting.  


This global opportunity is for a proactive and detail oriented lead business analyst with expert understanding of interest rate risk transfer to help design and deliver critical system upgrades and improvements.


The role includes interaction with senior global stakeholders and SME’s to understand existing processes, identify their limitations and design solutions to align with the strategic vision of the bank.


  • Job Responsibilities:Define detailed requirements in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Become a trusted SME on how interest rate risk transfer is applied at HSBC
  • Support existing project deliverables around interest rate risk buy-in control framework
  • Review and challenge technical requirements from our IT partners to ensure align with business objectives
  • Mentor and guide less senior analysts within the team


  • Must Have Skills and knowledgeExpert knowledge of Bank’s Funds-Transfer-Pricing (FTP) with focus on interest rate risk transfer
  • Expert knowledge on IRRBB product behaviouralisation
  • Strong experience in a coding language e.g. SQL, Python
  • Able to independently deliver high quality work
  • HSBC system knowledge a plus
  • Business Analysis or change management accreditation a plus


  • Desired education/qualification and experienceBachelor/Master’s degree in math, engineering, statistics or economics preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in change or equivalent FO environment (Markets Treasury, ALCM)
  • 3+ years’ experience specific to change management project on FTP or IRRBB behaviouralisation projects
  • Proficiency on MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
