Job Title: Lead Business Analyst – Basel 3 Reforms Stress Testing

Location: HSBC London Canada Square (Hybrid)

Pay Rate: £522.50 Per Day PAYE / Umbrella Option / Inside IR35

LOA: 12 Months

 

Job Purpose:

 

The role supports the Credit Risk Stress Testing Delivery and Basel 3.1 Requirement teams. The roleholder will be expected to work closely with the Project Manager to support Basel 3.1 requirement elicitation, documentation and sign-off and to contribute to functional and UAT testing. The role will also involve data analysis and data mappings tasks. Initial training will be provided however the roleholder will need to work independently without close supervision and will be expected to exercise initiative and judgement while following the project lifecycle process. The role will involve exposure to senior business managers and a variety of other stakeholders.

 

What you’ll do:

 

Business Analysis

-          Capturing, analysing and documentation of Basel 3.1 requiremements pertaining to NCCR and helping to make changes to the stress testing tools

-          Providing a link between the requirements team and the business process and testing teams to ensure consistency of approach and efficient cross-workstream communication

-          Engagement and support of additional stakeholders who may need to contribute to the overall project deliverables

-          Undertaking data analysis tasks to establish reasons for data and process gaps, help with data and ouputs reconciliation and regression testing and analysis

-          Support the project manager with risk identification, risk reporting and project risks mitigation & contribute to impact assessment activities and work effort assessments

Customers/Stakeholders

The role holder will be expected to initiate and maintain interactions with a variety of project stakeholders including business teams, operations support, senior management, technology teams and external vendors

Minimum Qualification and Skills Required

  • Strong business analysis background (a minimum of 8-10 years’ prior experience)
  • Strong communication skills, being able to articulate complex requirements in simple terms to a varied audience
  • Proven record of requirement documentation, stakeholder engagement and project work
  • Demonstrable data analysis and data mapping skills / proficiency in spreadsheet software
  • Have a logical and quantitative mind-set, with the ability to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving
  • Self-starter, able to work independently long periods without supervision.
  • Knowledge of Risk Reporting, MI projects, including knowledge of key regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. Corep, Finrep, Stress Testing)

 

The below skills will be a plus but are not mandatory

  • Working knowledge of a database query language
  • Knowledge of Basel 3 Regulation
  • 3+ years’ experience in working on finance projects working on wholesale and retail banking books
  • Experience of change or transformation programmes within the Risk function of large FS firms, would be a benefit
  • 3+ years’ experience of working within Basel 3 Credit Risk
