Business Analyst

Rate: £550.00 PAYE P/D or £714.08 Umbrella P/D

Hybrid working model with minimal travel to the Birmingham office

Duration – 12 months

Role Summary:

HSBC are currently searching for an ambitious, analytical and organised Business Analyst to support the UK Wealth and Personal Banking Risk team. This is a unique opportunity to work for a HSBC Group wide Regulatory Reporting Project.

Role Purpose:

The role holder will be required to complete a mix of the following tasks:

  • Create process maps / procedure documents to improve the controls framework for regulatory reporting (from data extraction, Basel model runs to feeds to finance system)
  • Create data lineage and documentation for key CDE’s across all HSBC UK Retail products and brands.
  • Improve the Basel model implementation, process times and controls
  • Assist in tracking of project status, issues and reporting
  • Support the model management team in BAU activities to allow SME resources to be allocated to the project – including developing and implementing model monitoring.

The role holder will be required to work alongside a mix of project resources and SME’s and interact with multiple stakeholders across the organisation including credit risk, finance and IT. The candidate will require a broad range of project management/business analyst skills, requiring minimal oversight from senior management.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant retail product knowledge including knowledge of Credit Cards, Mortgages, Loans
  • Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Retail Banking/Regulatory Reporting/Governance
  • Awareness of project management techniques
  • High level of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project and report writing skills,
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • SAS/SQL experience
  • Basel Models
