Job title: Data & Analytics Office Governance Director

Location: HSBC London Canada Square

Pay Rate: £605 Per Day PAYE / or £785.49 Per Day Umbrella. Inside IR35

Start Date: 7th of November ( 1 Year Contract, potential extention )

The Head of DAO Governance primarily supports the Protect and Connect pillars of the strategy. In this role, you will lead the governance and reporting for HSBC’s Group Chief Data & Analytics Officer (GCDAO), working with key senior stakeholders regionally and globally.

 

Key Responsibility:

 

 

  • Data & Analytics Governance Planning, Monitoring & Reporting: Lead the continuing development, implementation and improvement of governance processes across DAO.
  • Management of Data and Analytics Committees and Governance: Organise and manage global DAO governance meetings, acting as secretariat where appropriate.
  • Board Governance Planning, Monitoring & Reporting: Oversight of all Board and regulatory requirements required for GCDAO to govern Data & Analytics. Lead engagement with senior leaders to deliver requirements.
  • Controls oversight: Oversight and reporting of risk related issues for DAO (Helios / Aramis), supporting remediation where appropriate.
  • Inform and influence the decision making of leadership positions by use of management information, business performance information, analytics, forums, stakeholder feedback and HSBC strategy

 

 

Principles Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

Key responsibilities include some of but not limited to:

 

Data & Analytics Governance Planning, Monitoring & Reporting

  • Oversee and lead the continuing development, implementation and improvement of governance processes and framework to support compliance to Group and IT Policies and Standards.
  • Establish and maintain a robust and effective control environment across the Data & Analytics governance function.
  • Develop and refresh Data & Analytics governance model(s) on an ongoing basis in line with bank policy.

 

Management of Data & Analytics Committees & Governance

  • Organise and manage CDAO meetings including Group Data and Analytics Executive Committee (GDAEC) and Committee, acting as secretariat where appropriate. Oversight of all requirements required for the GCDAO to govern Data & Analytics.
  • Lead engagement with relevant Data & Analytics Exco members and senior leaders to prepare committee appropriate papers and material.
  • Prepare and coordinate any Data & Analytics committee communications as required. 

 

Board & Regulatory Governance Planning, Monitoring & Reporting

  • Lead oversight of all Board requirements required GCDAO to govern Data & Analytics (e.g. Non-Financial Risk Board (NFRB), Group Executive Committee (GEC) etc).
  • Lead oversight of all Regulatory requirements required for the GCDAO to govern Data & Analytics. Regulators include the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) & the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) in the UK.
  • Lead engagement with relevant Data & Analytics Exco members and senior leaders to prepare Board appropriate papers and material. To lead the preparation of material directly where required. Lead engagement with senior leaders to ensure that appropriate approvals and signoff of material is in place. 
  • Engage subject matter experts across functions, levels, and geographies to appropriately and accurately message content of reports and presentations.
  • Manage and respond to regulatory requests and questionnaires where required.
