Role Purpose:

As a Digital Project Manager, you will collaborate with & coordinate our business and technical partners on the need & nature of change to leverage the opportunities and manage the challenges. The role holder will be instrumental in helping and driving the business to come to well-reasoned decisions in matters of strategic, organisational, operational, and technological investment. You will work with Global Functions & external vendors to create, shape, deliver & embed sustainable change successfully.  The Wholesale Digital Channels team own, maintain and enhance the functionality used by over 150,000+ customers worldwide who use HSBC’s digital capabilities – HSBCnet, HSBC Connect, SWIFT, APIs and in Germany, Multiweb.

 

We currently have a vacancy for a Digital Project Manager to join our team and take on Project/programme Management responsibilities for a critical subset of deliverables within this CMB Continental Europe transformation programme. The role will initially be contracted for a period of 12 months, with a possible extension to end 2023 in line with the programme timelines and is available immediately.

 

Project Marco is focused on completing a number of SEPA payment and reporting related platform upgrades for our business in Germany. Representing our Digital Channels and the customers who rely on them, you will co-ordinate a range of Agile projects to achieve the committed deliverables and successfully launch enhanced products and functionality to customers using the Wholesale Digital Channels.  The project team is already in place and comprises of 2 other London-based colleagues dedicated to Project Marco and your everyday engagement will include other Digital, Product and Germany SMEs.  As the Digital Project Manager, your accountabilities include all aspects of regular project & programme reporting as required together with providing a monthly update briefing to senior stakeholders (Director, MD level)

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with European stakeholders and business partners, building strong relationships to ensure consensus and influence the right change outcomes
  • Work closely with and get support from businesses and functions to shape & deliver the change.
  • Secure agreement to any new solutions or business operating models, submitting recommendations and achieving buy-in from stakeholders
  • Adopt an agile and flexible approach to work. Ideally, you should have the ability to move between modes of thinking (e.g. strategic to analytical; board to drilldown).
  • Responsible and accountable for the delivery of complex and business critical change effort in accordance with existing industry best practices and methodologies
  • Proactively monitor areas of concern and risks within the project / programme and provide recommendations to mitigate them to ensure SLAs of delivery are met ensuring that HSBC best practice project management and reporting discipline is being followed at all times.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven experience of successfully executing & delivering projects or programmes
  • Proven experience of working in an Agile environment with first-hand knowledge of Agile working practices.
  • Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Management (Director, MD level)
  • Ability to deliver change successfully at pace across a Global operating environment.
  • An Understanding and previous experience of working with the requirements, messages and functionality used in the payment’s domain e.g., SWIFT, ISO20022
  • Articulate with strong written and spoken communication skills
