3-month contract

Role Purpose

We are focussed on re-inventing the relationship HSBC has with its customers and making our digital experience the reason customers chose HSBC as their primary bank.

We believe that content is at the heart of this transformation – providing personal and relevant content to our customers through advanced segmentation and personalisation tools to anticipate their needs and empower their financial lives.

Content is the experience, and therefore it needs to be planned, created and optimised.

We're looking for a content professional who can deliver website content that is engaging, easily understood and reflects our global brand and digital best practice approaches. We need someone who can define and deliver content experiences and journeys for the HSBC public websites internationally. The ideal candidate will be confident working with proposition owners and business stakeholders to innovate content in a data-driven way.

Responsibilities:

 ·         analysing content at both granular and holistic levels, making recommendations and designing experiences to ensure public website content aligns with the global content strategy and its established approaches to customer journeys, design patterns and content models

·         creating content briefs and writing copy for them

·         making decisions on content design and copy using a combination of own research, analysis and audits

·         inspiring others in the wider content community and beyond to deliver high-quality experiences that support business goals

·         collaborating with the wider content strategy and design community to ensure policies and operational processes are being followed and optimised

Experience/Skills:

·         you have professional writing experience

·         you have UX / content design experience

·         you have a good understanding of up-to-date SEO tactics

·         you can do your own data research and analysis (Google Looker experience is a bonus)

·         you have a good working knowledge of enterprise content management systems and structured content or headless CMS principles (that is to say, you can support projects from a technical content point of view, not just a creative one)

·         you're happy leading conversations, asking questions and making decisions on all content-related matters

·         you’re able to manage multiple projects at the same time

·         you're a self-starter and adept at working through ambiguity

·         you consider yourself a life-long learner

This might not be right for you if:

·         your writing experience is exclusively in journalism, marketing or social media

·         you need a very clear brief to do your best work

·         your accountability in previous roles was solely copywriting
