Content Writer

London – Hybrid

£357.50 PAYE / £464.15 Umbrella per day

6 Month Contract

 

HSBC are currently recruiting for a content writer to join their team. Within this position, you will be responsible for developing and writing regular content in varying formats, suitable for use and repurposing across multiple communications channels to achieve DevEx goals and objectives. HSBC are looking for a hardworking and creative person who is able to create bold and impactful content that ‘cuts through the noise.’

The content that you will be producing will include: Technology insight pieces, interviews and profile pieces with senior leaders and employees at all levels, scripts for colleague interview films, podcast scripts, articles, features, news stories plus ‘colour’ or ‘employee mood’ pieces, programmes success stories and any/all content supporting promotion of learning and development activities plus all live and recorded events.

Ideally, within this position you will introduce great ideas and creative solutions demonstrating the desire to make DevEx content stand out and be memorable.

Responsible For:

 

  • Produce regular content that supports delivery of DevEx Programme within Technology.
  • Actively go out and source interviews, content, success stories from all groups or territories.
  • Connect and conduct interviews with Executives, Senior Leaders and staff at all levels.
  • Write features, articles, colour pieces, all blogs, vlogs, podcasts, video scripts, podcast scripts, speaker interview notes and social media updates for digital channels. Share success stories emerging from the programme and promote important programme developments.
  • Understand and incorporate the brand and editorial content guidelines – ‘push the creativity to the max’ with interesting, visually appealing, relevant, and informative content.
  • Work with communications colleagues from different business areas of the bank to promote our activities by providing content for their Town Halls, publications, and for various HSBC employee community groups.
  • Proofreading and editing.
  • Develop a weekly and monthly content calendar and work cross-functionally to drive engagement.
  • Work with the engagement lead on managing full lifecycle of our content, social channels, strategy and planning, content creation, publishing, and analytics.
  • Drive innovations in storytelling, formats and approaches that will help us increase our reach and engagement with primary audiences.
  • Manage content distribution to channels such as video channels, Poppulo email newsletter, intranet, Confluence site, Zoom, PowerPoints, blogging site, etc. to increase brand awareness.
  • Evaluate the impact of our content by understanding web and social media traffic, engagement and qualitative feedback from our business partners and audiences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and adjust the content strategy as needed.

 

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or related communications field

· 5-10 years of experience in writing multichannel creative content

· Skilled in interviewing business leaders and staff at all levels

  • Experience with creating compelling messages for different targeted audience groups.
  • Previous experience in radio and podcast creation is desirable.
  • Ability to write about technology developments in both laymen’s and specialist terms.
  • Maintaining positive brand recognition and consistency across channels.
  • Knowledge/capability of growing internal communities and interest groups e.g., via MS Teams channels
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple activities and projects.
  • Working knowledge of Confluence, MS Teams and Poppulo is desirable.
  • Energetic, positive thinker, and team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure with experience in delivering communications for large project work.
  • Outstanding communication skills both in written and oral.
