Project Manager – Liquidity Change Delivery

London/ Hybrid, Flexible

£550 PAYE / £714.08 Umbrella per day

6 Month Contract – Likely Extensions


Our client HSBC are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in the London office/remote working, this contract will be for 6 months with a review to be extended.

The Liquidity Programme is a very large programme within HSBC with 100+ people across multiple departments. Several PM’s working across multiple workstreams both permanent and contractors. Workstreams the role holder would be responsible for will depend on skillset but likely to include adjustment remediation and facilities.

HSBC are looking for an experienced PM with the understanding of end-to-end Project management working with IT and business teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in data remediation and matrix management with the ability to communicate effectively at a senior level. The primary role of the Liquidity Change Delivery team is to provide business change management for finance systems projects as part of the Global Finance Change Programme.


The Project Manager – Liquidity Risk will:

· Be responsible for the project plan and delivery of a Liquidity workstream in his/her remit. This includes project planning, resources management, dependencies management and engagement with all stakeholders and delivery partners both within Finance Change and the wider team.

· Implement Target Operation Model and business vision for the project

· Drive project delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule and risks.

· Lead definition of staffing, responsibilities and schedules.

· Establish effective project controls and procedures.

· Set high expectations concerning quality and put in place quality assurance processes.

· Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks to programme leadership and steering committees as appropriate and make recommendations to influence decision making

· Provide visible leadership to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives

· Delivery of defined projects within Liquidity Change BOW

· Implementation of Target Operation Model and business vision for the project

· Influence and collaborate with stakeholders to drive the right outcomes

· Take ownership of overall project plan and work with key contributors to agree their contribution.

· Act as a visible change leader alongside the business sponsor and leadership to drive delivery of benefits.

· Provide regular constructive feedback and coaching to individuals to improve their performance and support development and career progression.

· Manage all regulatory and compliance matters and operational risk.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant mandatory standards, group policies and tools such as Business Transformation Framework.

· Establish effective project controls and procedures (as directed by programme manager where applicable).

· Manage adherence to project governance processes at all times.


Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

Technical Skill Requirements

· A solid Liquidity reporting knowledge and understanding of liquidity platforms

· An understanding of change delivery lifecycles and delivery methodologies

· A strong appreciation of systems and data architectures, specifically in a finance environment

· Excellent analysis skills, with ability to structure problems and find solutions

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)


Personal Skill Requirements

· Excellent stakeholder management skills

· Mature and independent - able to work with little supervision

· Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management

· Team player able to manage conflict and conflicting priorities

· Ability to provide direction to more junior colleagues

· Ability to quickly attain understanding of new systems and processes


Experience

· Minimum 10 years of experience in regulatory and risk management domain

· Matrix Management of Change and IT teams

· Data sourcing and validation

· Financial Services Project Experience across both internal reporting and regulatory requirements, with solid experience of Liquidity reporting processes

· Experience in change management, driven by IT systems implementation or enhancement, across a large organisation

· Experience in delivering data remediation projects

· Delivery and Test management experience beneficial

· Track record of successful delivery

· Experience of working in Asset Liability Management
