Project Business Analyst
£522.50 PAYE / £678.38 Umbrella

Role Summary:

HSBC are currently looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their team! If successful, you will be working on a Billing Upgrade Project. Oracle Fusion has been implemented as the cost ledger for the bank and the general ledger for the Servco entities. It provides the businesses with the transparency and insight into their cost base and the financial infrastructure to support the organisational and regulatory requirements of the Service Companies (ServCos). This project is to enhance the Fusion build in the Hong Kong ServCo (HGSH) to enable it to bill / invoice its service recipients directly, removing a key barrier to the Group’s recovery and resolution commitments and to align HSGH to ServCo’s billing target operating model.

Within this position, you would support the end-to-end delivery of the project incorporating changes to billing, data, systems, and supporting Finance processes. You will also be responsible for supporting the delivery with suitable stakeholder engagement and ensure compliance within the HSBC Change Framework.  

Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day tasks are as follows:

  • Running workshops/meetings with SMEs to discuss requirements as needed
  • Creation and maintenance of Business Requirements documents and associated process maps
  • Ensuring appropriate operational documentation is in place prior to go-live
  • Identification and escalation of risks and issues and maintenance of actions log
  • Design and manage the end-to-end user testing and sign-off processes
  • Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
  • Other supporting activities within the project as required.


Key Experience / Knowledge:
Experience and skills that are required for this role are as follows:

  • Finance change experience specific to Oracle Cloud (Fusion)
  • Experience working within Finance departments, in particular inter-company billing, invoicing and accounting teams
  • Experience analysing and documenting business processes
  • Significant user testing experience gained within a systems led process
  • Understanding of the full project life cycle
  • Proven track of working closely with key business users and IT staff.
  • Strong analytical and business requirement gathering skills
  • The ability to work with a diverse and geographically dispersed business teams
  • A highly motivated and pro-active self starter
  • Finance / Accountancy background
  • Able to work under tight deadlines; Will commit to delivery on time
