Role Title: Product Manager

Rate: Up to £420 PAYE / £545.30 Umbrella Per Day

Location: Remote

Contract: 6 months

 

Role Description:

The role of Product Manager is to support a key strategic initiative for Unsecured Lending, delivering digital onboarding journey enhancements for HSBC. As journey and P&L owners, product management support is essential to drive this forward and ensure that the effectiveness of the journey is maximised and delivers profitable growth. The project will involve working very closely with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, ensuring the proposed impacts are in line with expectations, and optimising customer outcomes and conversion. The individual will need to have experience working in regulated environments, ideally unsecured lending, along with experience of delivering new digital journeys.

The Product Manager role is based within the Unsecured Lending Acquisition team in Wealth and Personal Banking. This is a fixed term contract to support on a strategically important initiative and the role holder must be able to work independently and to tight schedules, escalating issues or blockers where required to ensure the project delivers both on time and to a high standard of quality. Customer outcomes, conversion and commercial drivers will be the indicators of success in the role.

 Key Responsibilities:

Overall Role Responsibilities:

  • End to end acquisition journey ownership to ensure existing journeys are optimised for effectiveness and new journey requirements and improvements are delivered
  • Being the product representative within project meetings, ensuring decisions are made with a commercial lens and always thinking about the best thing for the customer
  • Updating senior stakeholders on the progress of the project, ensuring key issues are understood and decisions are made at the appropriate level
  • Communicating confidently on the project to the wider unsecured team and other internal stakeholders to ensure buy in and understanding
  • Identifying solutions to emerging risk issues, changing priorities, project completion issues and areas of conflict
  • Challenging established policy and procedures where appropriate and suggesting alternatives
  • Interpreting and challenging data to inform business decisions and find opportunities to improve sales and effectiveness of activity
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Ensuring the project is embedded into BAU processes, procedures are updated and understood and internal teams are briefed appropriately

Key Experience / Skills:

Experience and skills that are required for this role are as follows:

 

 

  • Experience working in relevant environments (i.e. product management/Unsecured Lending)
  • Experience of delivering digital change projects and the understanding of drivers of start to submit conversion
  • Ability to collate, analyse, critically evaluate, and present data and Management Information (MI)
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Experience of using relevant software packages (i.e. Microsoft Office, particularly Excel)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • Experience of building effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
  • Experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
