Rate – PAYE £175 / Umbrella £224.56 per day

Our client HSBC are currently seeking a Copywriter to join their team, undertaking a remote working role, this contract will be for 6 - 9 months.
The Content Studio sits within Digital Messaging Experience & Sales (DMES) and is responsible for managing HSBC’s public websites (PWS) for Wealth & Personal Banking globally. The Copywriter will work with local market stakeholders (including PWS Leads, Commercialisation Leads and Product Managers) to create clear, concise and engaging copy across our PWS and digital messaging channels.
Reporting directly to a Senior Copywriter, this role will sit as part of a cross-functional squad to support the delivery of best-in-class digital experiences for our customers in a specific market.
The Copywriter will require strong experience of writing high quality and accessible copy for a broad audience, excellent communication skills to build relationships with local markets and the ability to understand business goals and adapt content accordingly.
The role holder will be accountable for the writing and editing of high-quality copy that adheres to our tone of voice guidelines and is delivered in line with project timelines.
Impact on the Business/Function
· Support with planning and writing of copy
· Work with local markets to understand the business objectives for specific initiatives and create high quality copy which meets these requirements
· Use data-led insights to refine and optimise our content to drive customer engagement and education
· Ensure timely execution of work while adhering to robust content governance standards
· Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at a local, regional and global level
· Manage multiple projects concurrently, escalating issues in a timely manner when necessary
· Act and lead as a copywriting subject matter expert with the local market and within the cross functional team
Customers / Stakeholders
· Local market stakeholders – PWS Lead, DMES, Product Managers and Marketing
· Regional stakeholders – Cross-functional teams, DMES, and Marketing
· Global stakeholders – Global DMES, Global Content and Global Public Website
· Other stakeholders – Risk, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, IT
· 3rd party agencies (copywriters, designers and translation)
Management of Risk
The role holder will be required to work with relevant stakeholders to identify and mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. This includes, but is not limited to:
· Consistently behaving in line with HSBC’s values
· Ensuring that we treat customers fairly and place them at the heart of what we do
· Managing operational risk, related to people, processes and systems
· Incorporating and delivering in line with any legal or regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of creating customer-focused copy within a similar organisation (in-house editorial, agency, journalism etc.)
- English/Chinese writing/translation qualifications or equivalent
- Strong digital content background with excellent knowledge of UX/UI, SEO, digital publishing, data and distribution
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues, resolve differences and influence senior stakeholders
- Understanding of content management systems and project management tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira) is advantageous
- Experience in finance, banking or a regulated industry is advantageous
