Role Purpose
The Business Architect will be supporting <function> and the role purpose will define the vision, design and specifications to deliver solutions to business problems. Defines the blueprint that executes the vision by aligning strategic objectives to capabilities, data and processes to deliver value to end users.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Architect will primarily be responsible for:
· Providing architectural and subject matter expertise to all feature teams within the portfolio
· Interpreting and contextualizing business strategy
· Setting an overarching vision for lending and lending operations
· Leading the development of specific artefacts such as business capability maps and value streams to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution
· Leading the synthesis of desired business outcomes and translating into business capabilities to ensure these outcomes can be delivered in the most optimal way
· Leveraging capability from the appropriate lending team
· Ensuring end to end integrity of solution designs and alignment with standard architecture patterns such as Platform, Security, data etc.
· Leveraging agile methodologies and collaborate between technical and business teams to design iterative improvements to the platform and achieve long-term outcomes
· Architecture decisions and risks within the portfolio
· Managing the repository of business architecture models, roadmaps, standards and outcome.
· Evaluating new technologies and making recommendation for new capabilities

Primary customers are:
· Functional and delivery teams
· Other business areas and lines as appropriate
· Group Functional Teams – e.g. Risk, Group Finance, IT
· Operational support teams
· Group & Regional teams
· Other Risk sub-functions – global and regional
Other stakeholders on projects will include (as demanded by specific project need):
· Other Transformation functions
· Regulatory authorities
· Other service delivery functions
· Data service providers
· Software, data and service vendors
Leadership & Teamwork
· Support the team by quickly familiarising new team members with the team’s purpose and expectations
· Support Programme leadership in communication of strategic direction across global, regional and country structures
· Support and encourage constructive cross-country, cross function, and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and / or the best interests of the business and its customers.
· Promote an innovative and lateral thinking approach when formulating solutions
· Give timely, honest and constructive feedback to others
This role could lead other architects on projects or programmes

· Dealing with complex requirements.
· Supporting in the control of projects to meet exacting timescales.
· The systems and processes involved are often highly technical in nature or require specialist knowledge to fully understand and effectively support the change programme.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role – not the role holder)
Knowledge & Experience:
· Business Architect experience recommended
o Held a number responsibilities associated with Business Architecture
· Transformation experience recommended
o Has experience of working on change projects

o Communicates effectively to drive implementation
· Provides SME knowledge across portfolio
o Provides SME knowledge across the portfolio and owns architecture artefacts documenting strategy execution

o Leads the development and implementation of end-to end business processes linked to systems
o Understands how the systems and processes used by the business fit together and interact and can disseminate this information in an impactful way
Qualifications and Accreditations:
· Evidence of self-development across a number of disciplines
· Industry recognized technical certifications desired i.e. Change Management, Master Black Belt – Six Sigma
