Our client is a local authority looking for a Qualified Social Worker to work in the Children's, Schools & Families team.
To be considered for this role you must have: -
- A degree in Social Work
- Hold a full HCPC registration
- Two years post graduate experience in a relevant team
- Experience of working in Children’s Safeguarding
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Driving licence and business insurance would be beneficial
- DBS update is preferred by client
The role will involve: -
- To provide advice and guidance to employers, other agencies and voluntary organisations regarding the management of allegations against staff, carers and volunteers.
- To chair child protection strategy meetings regarding allegations made against staff, carers and volunteers within the Council, liaising with the police and other agencies, as necessary. Ensure that the management of information regarding allegations against staff, carers and volunteers is kept up to date.
- To immediately advise the LADO and in his/her absence, the Head of Safeguarding and other senior managers, as necessary, about potentially high profile situations and significant safeguarding matters that may compromise a child’s safety, including other areas of concern, policy development needs and other professional issues that should reasonably be brought to a line manager’s attention.
- To work with the LADO, Surrey’s Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) Business Development Manager and others regarding the development of inter-agency performance management processes, standards and performance indicators.
- To manage complaints and representations in accordance with agreed Corporate and Directorate policies and procedures, undertaking any necessary investigations or associated work.
- To deliver Child Protection Training Level 1 to staff designated officers and offer advice and consultation to educational establishments in relation to child protection and safeguarding matters.
- To analyse performance management information and support the LADO to present reports to Head of Children’s Safeguarding Services and other senior managers.
