Job Title: Quasar Developer
Contract: 6 months
Location: London
My high profile Investment Management Client is one of Europe’s largest institutional asset managers and a major global investor. They are currently looking to recruit a Quasar Developer to work in their London offices on an initial 6 month contract.
Job Summary: A developer with strong Cache Objects skills and Investment Management experience to develop within the Quasar development team.
Key Accountabilities: • Analysis, design and development of the in house Quasar system and its modules
• Documentation of practice, processes and software.
• Ensure proper implementation of changes in accordance with agreed Change Management procedures.
• Post live, providing third line support for the duration of the agreed warranty period.
Essential Experience • Quasar
• Experience of the Investment Management industry preferable
• Fluent in Cache Object script programming language
• Cache classes
• SQL
• Experience of full lifecycle development activity i.e.: o Analysis and the production of technical specifications using sequence and activity diagrams etc. e.g. using Use Cases. o creation and implementation of unit test (regression) scripts o support of quality assurance and user acceptance test cycles o deployment through structured environments for development, integration, quality assurance, user acceptance, production and disaster recovery Experience (Desirable)
• VC/m Version Control
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence / Agile SCRUM
• Experience of working within a Continuous Integration environment / automated unit testing
• XML and Web Services
• Linux
• Good understanding of OO design principles
• Design patterns
Competence/Characteristics: • Ability to work to deadlines and be delivery focused • Willingness and aptitude to learn new skills • Must demonstrate a pro-active attitude • Must have client facing skills • Must have good communication and presentation skills • Must be able to work independently or within a team framework • Self motivated • Flexible attitude to working hours.
