Insight Analyst (SAS Developer)
The successful candidate will be highly skilled in using SAS, a keen problem solver, able to work under their own initiative and will understand how data is used to deliver valuable insight that will drive Finance business decisions.
Main Responsibilities
• Automation of existing BAU SAS processes
• Improvement / redesign of existing processes (SAS logic)
• Develop data models to meet the needs of Revenue Assurance information systems
• Create Entity Relationship models (ERM)
•Develop new SAS processes which enable the efficient processing, storage and summary of data
• Assist end users in solution design and best practice
• Document new and existing SAS processes and build data dictionaries
• Support standardisation and rationalisation of processes across UK Home and UK Business
• A key advocate for data quality agenda and support the improvement of the Centrica Data Governance culture
• Respond to technological developments and changing data sources.
• Run BAU tasks when needed.

• Understanding of big data methodologies.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to reconcile data and account for / explain differences.
• Well organised individual who keeps code and key documents filed for easy retrieval and can handle conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
Education
• SAS programming certification (desirable)
Work Experience:
• 2+ years’ experience of using SAS in either Base or SAS EG including use of SQL, data steps, macro and SAS functions (essential)
• Experience of process automation / SAS code improvements
• Experience of working within a big data environment (ideally Hadoop)
• Experience of automating complex code (essential)
• Data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) experience (desirable)
• Working knowledge of SAP Billing would be an advantage.
Purpose Statement
We are a team of data experts and operational Revenue Assurance professionals within Finance who provide analysis, modelling and insight on UK Home and UK Business revenue and volume. This role is primarily focused on building new and improving existing BAU SAS processes, used for customer level bill estimation, forecasting and consumption modelling.
