Global Biotechnology company based in Cork, Ireland - looking for Project Manager - Senior, for the delivery of a facilities/utilities/office capital projects.

The role will encompass the Cork site and other sites as directed by E&PS. They will act as the single point of contact to all site business owners for site-based capital projects.
The focus of the project role will be supporting projects with an office, facilities and utilities focus.

The Job: 

  • Acts as Project Lead on Projects from concept to handover and business value realization stage in accordance with our IDEA process.
  • Establishes alignment with sponsor, agrees management of customers, and aligns Internal and external teams to deliver the Project Objectives.
  • Communicates regularly with the Sponsor and aligns on communication to team members on all aspects of projects based on key performance indicators, maintains project communications, and prepares reports for E&PS and Business Leadership.
  • Understands the project intake process, prepares for stage gates, and the development of the selected option for capital approval requests.
  • Identifies appropriate project delivery functions, resources, and strategies for the project via a Project Execution Plan.
  • Coordinates the design, execution and close out of all project related activities including leading internal resources and the procurement of third party contractors, suppliers and consultants.
  • Controls risks, changes and requests for changes with Sponsor and team.

Have You: 
  • Bachelor Science Degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Engineering/Management experience.
  • Prior experience in portfolio management and leading small to medium capital projects in Supply Chain/manufacturing in a regulated environment, R&D, Distribution Centers or Offices.
  • Understands business needs and can translate these to engineering concepts.
  • Technically knowledgeable, can relate to and understand technology-based issues.
  • Ability to lead and motivate remote and virtual teams and partners.
  • Knowledgeable of process/pharmaceutical industries and technologies.
  • Good listening and problem-solving skills when handling project challenges.
  • Good knowledge of Project Controls in cost and schedule development, financial assessments and managing of budget and schedule.
  • Manufacturing experience in FDA or other regulated environments from design through startup.
  • Experience on contracting and negotiation.
