Project Manager, Carrigaline, Co Cork

 

A Lean Manufacturing company which focuses on the design and manufacturing of a full range of precision air conditioning equipment for datacentres, telecommunications, specialty storage and building service markets is looking for a Project Manager.

Having pioneered the original concepts, the company’s name is synonymous with quality and reliability in a world where processing and electrical technologies are applied in critical applications. This role involves working with the key account manager and design team in managing multiple datacentre applications globally for key customers.

The business is looking for an individual who is ambitious and will continue to support the consistent development and growth of the company.

 

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate and provide input at all stages of product/project completion with the Facebook projects team.
  • Preparing higher level customer production gantt charts, budget and resource planning in conjunction with the key account manager and production manager
  • Assist the team in preparing submissions for tender related to the key client and others where necessary, including but not limited to review of specification documentation, organisation and compilation of responses on behalf of the team in conjunction with key account manager
  • Attendance and occasional chairing of weekly internal project status review meetings
  • Regular communication and coordination with clients site team including client operations group to ensure client needs are met for factory testing, quality, site commissioning, and handover - including with client site representatives e.g. general and mechanical contractors, commissioning agents, Controls contractor, etc.
  • Reporting and working directly with the key account manager and production manager for this customer account and supporting activities to ensure project objectives and schedules are met and communicated.
  • Interface with BMS/controls contractor on component delivery and commissioning coordination.
  • Manage and organise factory witness test (FWT) events and pre-testing.
  • Communication with on-site personnel and clients site representatives to organise inspection walks and commissioning activities and the timely close out of snags raised.
  • Coordinating with the quality engineer in responding to and tracking quality issues, documentation and snag lists relating to these projects
  • Preparation and communication of operation and maintenance documentation such as IOM and spare parts lists as specified by the client.
  • After sales/handover communications, including any further requests for spares information or obsolescence queries, from the client and their representatives.
  • Preparation and management of production schedules and documentation with the production manager as required to support manufacture of these projects and associated activities
  • Ensuring consistent quality of response across all projects relating to this customer and their specifications
  • Regular, open, and clear communication with the customer management team
  • Attendance in meetings as required with client and other 3rd parties to coordinate projects relating to this datacentre customer, supported by the team and key account manager
  • Supporting the technical design team in compilation and submission of technical documentation as required
  • Ensure project procedures are in accordance with the approved customer specifications
  • Clear, open and consistent communication with key stakeholders to ensure smooth, quality, on-time project management and delivery.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • An engineering degree or related HVAC technical background
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering and engineering-related project management activities, preferably in a manufacturing or construction application
  • Moderate-Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills, preferably advanced skill level
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
  • Full Clean License and ability to travel when necessary
  • Have a positive, pro-active approach to working in a team environment
  • Proven organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient IT Skills.
