Balance Sheet Reconciliation SME
GSK House, Brentford
6 Month Contract


Job Purpose

In order to achieve upper quartile Best in Class processes by 2020 this role is required to build, standardise, optimise and maintain GSK’s Balance Sheet Reconciliation processes which are conducted by our Outsourced provider Genpact and in GSK’s finance teams

Functional Scope : All GSK finance organisations operating these processes


Key Responsibilities

People/Organisation

  • Work with GSK’s Regional Finance Service centres and our outsourced provider Genpact to deliver an optimised Balance Sheet Reconciliation process
  • Facilitate discussions to ensure Taxonomy is agreed, defined and documented.
  • Arbitrate on any issues related to clarity of taxonomy or where changes are proposed
  • Ensure standardisation across the regional hubs

Process & Policy

  • Design and document processes to optimise efficiency and effectiveness
  • Design, document and deploy optimised, standardised finance processes
  • Review and update policy to optimise process
  • Identify activities that can be eliminated
  • Ensure controls are optimised to balance risk and efficiency

System

  • Identify processes for automation
  • Partner with Genpact for delivery of Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
  • Ensure processes are standardised and documented to enable RPA
  • Participate in DIL Testing for RPA

Performance Management

  • Ensure Performance Management Measures are in place and in use across all processes. These will be used in the Ops Board to measure compliance

Other

  • Accountable for identifying and driving benefits delivery. This activity will be supported by the Project and Benefits Delivery Manager who will prepare the analysis of targeted benefits and drive and track the savings.


Qualifications/Experience

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with minimum 3 years PQE
  • Experienced finance professional with R2R Transactional Process experience
  • Fluency in GSK’s finance processes e.g. worked on this process in FS or ICSS
  • Understand the FS/ICSS/Genpact organisational structure
  • Expert in GSK’s E2E MDM, FA, IFRS16 and BSR accounting processes
  • Some experience in transformation and/or change programmes
  • Some experience of process optimisation and mapping
  • Operating SAP for this process
  • Ability to coordinate several activities at once, quickly analyse and resolve specific problems
  • Ability to manage tasks, work independently, and proceed with objectives with some supervision
