Contract Analyst
GSK Stockley Park
6 Month Contract
Pay: £345 per day


The purpose of this role is to ensure ownership of the process for obtaining; drafting; approving; updating; and retaining all intercompany (and third party) contracts on behalf of the Pharmaceutical Trading Partner; GlaxoSmithKline Trading Services Limited (GSKTS).

The Contracts Manager will assess impacts of proposed changes to physical and financial trade routes on the intercompany legal framework, propose and draft the required documentation, including where necessary changes to the template with inputs from relevant stakeholders when required.


  • Collaborate with Finance, Tax and Legal stakeholders in the development of contract strategies.
  • Provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff on contracting practices and procedures. Serve as point of contact for customers on contractual matters including as contractual middleman between GSK entities and departments; ensuring overall timely review and approval of variations.
  • Change management: Identify stakeholder inputs from LOCs (Tax; Legal; Finance Managers / Finance Directors); Global Tax; Transfer Pricing Tax; Legal; Quality; Logistics; Change Integrations and Divestments (CI&D); and Pricing. Identify level of engagement as a result of Projects; BAU handovers; and gap analysis. Request data required and engage relevant additional stakeholders. Assess impact with regards to prioritisation; review against the existing legal framework; resourcing; and timeline. Propose recommendations and discuss solutions with relevant stakeholders. Track progress of discussion; negotiate template changes; and identify supporting documentation where required. Obtain relevant approvals. Draft documentation; arrange for execution via eForms team. Track counter execution; additional queries; and filing. Where appropriate, maintain regular updates with project teams.
  • Continue development of implementation procedures for contract management in compliance with relevant company policies with commercial awareness of reputational, regulatory, legal, and margin risk.
  • Apply a holistic approach to the process, to support market and business strategy, and deliver creative practicable solutions where there is imprecision, uncertainty, or internal differences of opinion.
  • Manage complexity; mitigate risk; and maintain framework consistency where possible, with quality as the driving focus.
  • Be involved in policy and procedure setting / management / changes which determine contract terms.
  • Liaison with CI&D unit and Procurement to collate these agreements;
  • The collation of 3P agreements has been phased, starting with EU region in 2018

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent
  • 2 years legal or commercial experience
  • Contract negotiation and drafting experience
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry
