The Immunology Catalyst at GSK is a unique Industry:Academia collaborative program where leading academic immunologists work alongside GSK scientists while pursuing their own independent research programmes in basic immunology.

We are looking for an experienced lab based immunologist to work alongside existing postdoctoral fellows as part of this initiative for a 12 month period to help address basic immunology questions under the supervision of academic experts and GSK immunology leaders. Research topics will include inflammasome activation in macrophages, programmed cell death pathways and the regulation of immune responses through ubiquitin ligase pathways.

Required skills:

• Ph.D. in Immunology or a minimum of 4 years relevant lab based experience on an Immunology research project.

• Proficient in the culture of both immortalised and primary cells.

• Practical experience in the use of immunological laboratory techniques such as ELISA, FLOW and blood cell isolation

• Experience in Molecular Biology techniques and qPCR would be beneficial

• The ability to work independently with limited guidance

• The ability to identify problems in routine lab work and implement appropriate solutions.

• Highly effective oral and written communication skills with adherence to a high level of data integrity

• The ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data

• The ability to work in a matrix environment and be a team player

• A good track record of delivery against objectives.
