BISON Support Manager

GSK House, Brentford

5-6 Month Initial Contract

Pay: up to £390 per day


JOB PURPOSE

  • “BISON” is the GSK Corporate financial consolidation and reporting system using SAP FC and supports the reporting of both Group consolidated actual results and consolidated planning and forecasting processes.
  • The Group reporting system is maintained and supported by the business support team within the finance organization and by various technical support teams and functional consultants within the IT (Tech) organization. The business support team, led by the BISON Business Support Lead, provides the first line support service to the Finance organization for the BISON system.
  • The BISON Support Analyst will be part of the BISON Business Support Team and support the overall asset and ensure the smooth running of the Corporate consolidation system, responding to user queries and issues (through the standard GSK remedy process).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the smooth running of the BISON system and provide support to the system user-base by reviewing support requests (“remedy tickets”) that are assigned to the BISON support team. Once reviewed support requests should be assigned to the correct BISON resolving agency (RA). Where necessary, liaise with the system users for additional information on the support request, answer queries and, where appropriate, resolve the support requests directly;
  • Oversee the BISON Access Process and be the first point of contact for any queries regarding the process for granting, amending or removal of access to the system. Review all the open requests for access and confirm that they have been appropriately approved in line with the Access process. Challenge inappropriate access requests with the approving manager and reject requests that do not fulfil the criteria. Ensure access requests are passed to the technical delivery team in a timely manner. Ensure the access process in line with the Sarbox requirements and that access controls are operated in a timely manner;
  • Maintain the BISON content on the GSK Corporate intranet and BISON Workplace group, ensuring that documentation is updated as appropriate and monthly updates are made in a timely manner. Identify opportunities for additional user training materials and develop new content to support the users of the BISON system;
  • Prepare documentation as required for change control over updates to reports within SAP FC;
  • Other activities to support other members of the BISON Support Team as required.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, sometimes with competing interests;
  • Self-starter with an ability to manage tasks, work independently and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision;
  • Proven ability to work under pressure against tight and changing deadlines and to prioritize work-load to successfully deliver outcomes;
  • Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to coordinate several activities at once, quickly analyze and drive to resolution;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Commitment to quality service delivery to stakeholders.

SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE

  • Educated to Degree Level.
  • Finance System analyst experience/background
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & effective influencing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience of SAP ERP and SAP FC consolidation (or equivalent) (desirable)
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
