Description

To perform established analytical methods and develop new analytical methods to support biotechnology projects on behalf of the Biotechnology and Environmental Shared Service (BESS). Ensuring that all results are accurately recorded and work compliant with the appropriate Quality and EHS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• To liaise with internal and external scientists to develop the best analytical approach for a range of different project samples.

• Carry out routine analysis of samples to support delivery of BESS objectives.

• Develop new methods for the analysis of APIs, metabolic intermediates, enzymes, etc to support delivery of BESS objectives.

• Validate the analytical methods as appropriate.

• To adhere to and help maintain the highest levels of Safety and GXP across the department.

• Ensure facilities and equipment is maintained to an appropriate standard and raise issues as necessary.

• To interact and liaise with other BESS teams to support the delivery of BESS objectives.

• Analyse data using bioinformatics software.


Skills/Background

• Computer literate in Microsoft Office

• Working knowledge of corporate systems ie CERPs, eLNB, CDMS and Empower.

• Knowledge of GMP, CAP and EHS.

• Ability to work across multi-disciplined teams.

• Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.

• Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with multiple customers.

• Work with a minimum of direct supervision. The individual will be expected to show a high level of initiative and self-sufficiency in organising their day to day workload.

• Ability to use problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques.
