Overall description

GSK Consumer Healthcare are rolling out Agile ways of working and practices within both the Tech and Business organisation. This is to become a fast moving organisation that is able to compete more effectively in the new operating environment. The operating environment has changed due to pressure on bricks and mortar, digital innovation, new customer engagement model and new competitors that can bring products to market quickly.

Now Tech launched this strong ambition to transform their organisation and partnered with Emergn to use their “VFQ” framework and the using their capabilities to make a lasting change to the Tech org across all business units in GSK. We have already started deployment of these Agile ways of working in some key, mostly Tech teams and now we need to scale to the rest of the organisation.

- there is different levels of capability and applicability of this new Mindset across the various roles in the organisation. The Prime target of the change is CH Tec which have around 300 permanent staff and 100’s of CW. This will also apply to those driving innovation and building new directions with the business – of which there is around 28,000. This will not apply to many of those people. The new operating model does have dependency on the business providing Business Product Owner role to support Agile.

The perfect storm is that the Consumer Healthcare business organisation are also responding to the challenging operating conditions and being led by the CIO are now demanding the same transformation in approach of the business. Hence the plan is to combine forces and align the change.

The Change Manager role that we are recruiting is to work with the existing team and comms manager to develop a complete change plan that we can deploy in 2019 to make Agile for Everyone.
