Role Title: Optimisation Engineer

Duration: End of June 2025

Location: GSK House, London

Rate: Up to £830 per day Inside IR35 via Umbrella, dependent on experience

Role purpose / summary

The Onyx Research Data Platform organization represents a major investment by GSK R&D and Digital & Tech, designed to deliver a step- change in our ability to leverage data, knowledge, and prediction to find new medicines. We are a full-stack shop consisting of product and portfolio leadership, data engineering, infrastructure and DevOps, data / metadata / knowledge platforms, and AI/ML and analysis platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize reproducibility and performance of large-scale data and machine learning workloads for critical AI/ML projects

• Rapidly prototype solutions and refine towards platforming and production

• Supports optimizations and application integration with Onyx Platform

Key Skills/ requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field

• Knowledge of distributed application architecture, design, implementation and performance tuning

• Cloud experience (Google Cloud & Azure) with networking, storage, containers, and serverless

• Experience running compute workloads on HPC and/or specialized compute, storage, and networking appliances

• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

• GKE experience a plus
