Category Manager, Buyer

£565.00 per day Umbrella

GSK House, Brentford (2-3 days on site)

6 Month Contract (Potential extension likely)

Summary:

Within this role, you will be operating in a highly complex, multi-stakeholder and cross-functional environment to implement comprehensive integrated category strategies, sourcing activities and projects for the Process & Packaging equipment team.

Responsibilities:

• Sourcing activities for £50m of Oral solid dose & Inspection machine spend including equipment range of: Tablet press, Coater, Granulation & handling eqt, Fluid bed dryer& Bin blender, Capsule filling, Automated Visual Inspection & Semi Automated Visual Inspection & Leak detection machine.

• Accountable for the implementation of the category strategy initiatives for OSD, Inspection Machines equipment globally.

• Lead procurement portfolio activities: projects / RFP, contract reviews, negotiation and vendor performance including:

o Develop internal network and strong collaboration with internal customers: Align with them on yearly objectives/sourcing opportunities.

o Drive RFP processes, define appropriate selection criteria and drive negotiations in total alignment with all stakeholders and management.

o Drive RFI and Market analysis identifying strong player in one domain.

o Document clear internal guidelines on new procurement approach.

o Draft and review contracts, making sure the risks, deliverables, costs, timeline and responsibilities are clearly defined and addressed.

o Develop, implement, and report on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program with a selection of appropriate preferred partners.

o Provide day to day management of the category: PO approval (first line), build data reports (Preferred Vendor used, spend map, savings sheet, DPO, etc.)

• Manage negotiations with strategic suppliers across the categories.

• Balancing the use of global suppliers to the use of new and emerging suppliers to maximise value and support diverse supply.

• Manage and reduce a pool of suppliers worldwide through preferred supplier usage.

• Execute and lead contract performance and governance.

Experience Requirements:

• Master’s degree in business administration/engineering/finance or similar

• Experience in procurement CAPEX or Production Equipment

• Proven negotiations and contract management skills

• System skills including Ariba or similar

• Excellent Project Management skills

• Leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills

• Excellent IT skills including PowerPoint, Excel etc
