Data Security Specialist
Remote Working
Contract length: 6 Months
Pay: £626/d (Inside IR35 – via Umbrella ONLY)
The primary purpose of this position is to identify gaps in our current data security domain and create a holistic plan to improve the data security posture of GSK.
- Review current data security workstreams, identifying gaps within the workstreams and creating a holistic approach to data security.
- Review GSK’s current end user and system data security process and recommend improvements, both tactical and strategic.
- Work with stakeholders across the organisation to agree on project plans for data security.
- Identify and consolidate data sets from across the organisation.
- Participate in data set reviews and advise on protection for specific data sets.
- Engage with suppliers to understand if technologies can support identification and protections of data.
- Identify areas for improvement, including automation possibilities.
- Advise on controls enhancement working with security operations team, including DLP.
- Work with GRC and Security Architecture to understand whether current standards and policies are fit for purpose.
- Support business units as required.
Required Skills:
- Experience with data security, both end user data security and system data security.
- Understanding of data classification techniques for end user data, including systems used (MIP, Titus, etc)
- Proven experience with conducting gap analysis on an organisations data security posture.
- Proven experience with engaging stakeholders and formulating a consolidated plan to achieve the organisations objectives.
- Stakeholder/ internal business management experience.
- Experience with the data protection lifecycle from identification through to destruction of data.
- Ability to recommend automation across current and future process.
- Strong verbal/written communication in English, with the ability to effectively interact with professionals at all levels of responsibility and authority
- Work with virtual teams located in different countries around the world, aligning and adapting different work, culture and communication styles
