Process Engineer

GSK Montrose

12-month Contract

Pay: £16/h – £29.20/h PAYE (depending on level of experience)

The Montrose site has a number of long-term infrastructure improvement projects that require commissioning support (e.g. bulk solvent tanks, asphyxiation risk mitigation, addition of safety devices inc. SIL rated, improvements to production buildings). 

 

 

The role is both on-plant testing (including test script preparation, safety reviews) and software work (specification, documentation, offline and online testing), hence requires working with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical and instrument technicians, automation engineers, operations, plant engineers, EHS, quality, other process engineers) to investigate and resolve any issues. 

 

There are also projects at the design stage: work on detailed design, HAZOP action closure, software early specification. This is an on-site, key worker role.

 

 

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS:

  • A BEng/MEng qualified chemical/process engineer, enthusiastic to work in an on-plant environment. 
  • Process plant software experience (we use Emerson DeltaV) in pharmaceutical / food / chemical industry and process plant commissioning experience would be an advantage. 
  • Successful applicants will be self-starters, able to be accountable for project / commissioning delivery and also team players able to collaborate across disciplines, with good planning, communication and problem-solving skills. 

 

 

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY and CONTROLS:

Following successful training, will lead the commissioning of projects and for projects at the design stage liaise between site be the technical point of contact on shift and will be expected to work with operations to resolve or escalate issues
