DDI Infrastructure Architect

3 month initial contract

Up to £880 per day via umbrella

Remote / Brentford

Objectives:

The objective of this role is to lead on the disaggregation of existing Consumer Health DDI assets from GSK in support of separation and from those assets create a global DNS, DHCP and IPAM (DDI) platform architecture to support Consumer Health across Cloud and Edge as a standalone business:

• Lead, coordinate and direct the candidate DDI Manage Service Partner (MSP) in the Identification, assessment and delivery of DDI components, associated business application, DDI security and instrumentation/monitoring requirements

• Lead on the development of an DDI infrastructure architecture across IT and OT domains as a set of standardized components with clearly defined northbound and southbound interfaces that can be dynamically orchestrated in software based on business service intent. Providing leadership of overall architectural, processes, governance and implementation

• Lead the definition of the DDI infrastructure consumption model and customer experience across IT and OT domains

• Build internal, external and third-party supplier relationships to ensure full commitment and support in execution of the architecture

• Develop a DDI technology investment roadmap at a global scale that underpins the digital business agenda of Consumer Health

Activities:

• Collect, collate, analyse, develop and agree DDI requirements (including systems, process and organisation) relating to existing capabilities, new capabilities, future capabilities or additional network/systems deployment and create the appropriate DDI architectures to meet those requirements

• Work across GSK CoreTech, Consumer Health and MSPs with supporting resources to define the specifications and perform impact assessments ensuring a collaborative approach and consensus agreement of the performance and customer experience parameters of the DDI services to be delivered

• Participate in discussions with internal stakeholders, to influence upstream product/application architectures and offerings, IT infrastructure standardisation and related non-functional requirements

• Evaluation and recommendation as architectural standards, vendor hardware, software and managed service platforms providing DDI capability across Network, UC, Cloud and Workplace, driving feature addition where appropriate

• Provide subject matter expertise to guide the definition and execution of Network, Cloud, UC and Workplace infrastructure architecture for separation and FMO

• Lead the development and global adoption of a common DDI architectural framework for IT and OT

• Develop a view on the DDI cost economics associated with the architectural posture across IT and OT

• Maintain a feedback loop between target DDI architecture and separation requirements to agree no-regret spend and or avoid technical debt

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Requires detailed DDI architecture, integration, optimisation knowledge and expertise across Edge and Cloud with the ability to employ in both physical and virtual contexts

• Requires detailed understanding of linkages between architecture and the accumulation of technical debt that affect the strategic intent

• Needs to be highly analytical and comfortable operating across the business

• Strong presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas with authority and making the case for adoption, with the ability to present a high-level vision and story as well as detailed analysis to underpin it. Must be experienced presenting to senior stakeholders

• Strong team player, needs to lead and influence across the business

• Distinguished Architect level credibility with hands-on experience within a Systems Integrator or DDI Vendor

• 15+ years’ experience in DDI architecture & design, technology adoption and cost evaluation in multi-vendor production environments

• In depth knowledge in DDI and its supporting ecosystem, experienced in engaging on network, application and DDI topics at all levels internally and externally:

• Vendors – Infoblox, Efficient IP, BlueCat, VitalQIP, MS DNS-DHCP

• Industry Certifications – Efficient IP SDS, Infoblox CII, CINA, CICA, CICE, CIST, Azure Solutions Architect

• Experience in consulting and workshop facilitation to derive requirements
