Process Engineer: Automation, Commissioning, Batch Control
Shift Pattern Work
Job Purpose
- The purpose of this role is to provide process engineering expertise to the site’s manufacturing processes and operations. The role holder will contribute to the resolution of technical issues having process engineering dimensions. He/she will make decisions and recommendations relating to their technical responsibilities. Close collaboration and partnership with the operations units, the process chemistry, engineering and EHS teams will drive the site’s pursuit of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that support is provided to the operating units to enable routine day to day manufacture.
- Contribute to the resolution of technical issues having process engineering dimensions.
- Make decisions and recommendations relating to their technical responsibilities.
- Support capital engineering projects to ensure adequate design and commissioning of new plant and processes
- Support EHS and Engineering functions to enable good practice and compliance with legislation.
- This includes reporting and investigation of safety issues and input into planned and unplanned changes
- Drive process engineering related improvement programs resulting from PUCC/Quality activities
Technical knowledge depth
- Good communication skills
- Working with the minimum of direct supervision. He/she will be expected to show a high level of initiative and self-sufficiency in organising their day-to-day workload.
- Ability to work collaboratively across function and interact with an influence individuals including those where a direct reporting relationship does not exist
- Business acumen: as the Montrose site has to remain responsive to the fiercely competitive nature of the market place for our products and the need for GSK to respond to this difficult environment.
- Flexibility of site resource is required to maintain the site’s strategic role as a lean manufacturer and global supplier
- Understand and follow the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice and the Quality Management System, reporting deviations from GMP or the QMS
