Overview of the role 

The project manager will be responsible for the implementation of Stibo STEP, an MDM vendor solution that will be used to implement golden customer master and PIM at GSK. This is a phased implementation requiring coordination with vendor / implementation partner, different teams within IT as well as partnering with Data Governance and Data Management functions in the business.

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Execution – manage the project team (IT and business) to ensure successful implementation to agreed scope, timeline and cost and meeting the project objectives
  • Vendor Management – manage the MDM supplier and an implementation partner to ensure that they deliver against agreed milestones and within budget
  • Project Brief - establish and execute against the project brief (objectives, scope, plan, resources and governance)
  • Issues and Risks Log - track issues and risks in Workfront and work with stakeholders to resolve where necessary
  • Weekly Reports - prepare and distribute weekly project status reports keeping Workfront up to date
  • Relationship Management – build excellent working relationships with internal / external partners and key stakeholders
  • Steering Committee Meetings - chair steering committees and working groups facilitating decision making and conflict resolution issuing steering committee packs and minutes

Technical skills and qualifications 

  • Extensive proven experience in leading and delivering large scale / complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience specifically in the field of Master Data Management, integrating MD processes within enterprise data management and engaging with master data owners / stewards’ network as part of an MDM process
  • Demonstrated success building cross-functional networks in a geographically diverse and dispersed environment
  • Extensive experience leading IT deployment, configuration and integration projects involving MDM, working with distributed teams and acting as a lead between the Business and IT
  • Previous experience working with external execution partners and engaging with multiple client teams to fully understand current operations, challenges and barriers to change, prioritizing client requirements into specifications, solution options and delivery plans
  • Experience in building processes and appropriate training, competencies and measurements to ensure data quality and data governance
  • Knowledge of standard data migration approach, tools, roles & responsibilities
  • Strong analytical skills, well-organized, with attention to detail
  • A Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum, e.g. PMP, Prince2, Agile etc. would be a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools and Assets Under Management software a distinct advantage
  • Experience in systems which integrate with a data lake following a hub and spoke model
  • Experience in Agile implementations is desirable
  • Experience working in a task-oriented environment
  • Experience working in a matrix managed environment
  • Self-starter, quick learner, collaborative and able to switch between tasks as required
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.  

Competencies required 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information technology concepts to non-technology personnel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with all levels of management, staff, outside vendors, contractors, and consultants
  • In depth experience working in an agile development environment
  • As effective working remotely as they are face to face
  • Prior GSK experience is preferred.
