Cell Biologist/Screening Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join GSK as a Cell Biologist/Screening Scientist in our High Throughput Pharmacology Team.  This team sits within the High Throughput Expression and Charactrisation (HTEC)  section of Biopharm Discovery at our flagship R&D site at Stevenage. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your cell biology knowledge and screening assay experience, as well as develop your expertise, within a world leading pharmaceutical company.


The HTEC team provides functional characterisation of molecules (at the 100s-1000s scale) using a range of assay technologies. The key focus of the High Throughput Pharmacology team is to design and run assays which deliver data on the pharmacology of the antibody and bispecific molecules, generated from our industry leading in-vitro library and in-vivo antibody discovery technologies.


As an experienced cell biologist/screening scientist you will be able to develop high throughput screening assays and run antibody screens using such assays to provide program teams with decision making data on our molecules. You will report to the High Throughput Pharmacology Team-Leader and will be part a team of scientists using state-of-the-art assay technologies, laboratory automation and data analytics to deliver the highest quality data at pace (and scale). You will work closely with program teams and therapeutic area partners across our global organisation to deliver our goal of life-changing medicines of the future.



About You:

This role would suit a motivated and experienced cell biologist or screening scientist with a strong in-vitro assay background. You will have a relevant degree. You will also have good people/interpersonal skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.



Basic Qualifications

  • Cell biology or screening assay development experience.
  • Experience of large scale screening and/or flow cytometry would be advantageous.
