Planner

6 month contract

Remote / Brentford

Up to £540 per day via umbrella only

Context

GSK has announced the separation of its consumer health business from its biopharma business. This separation and the establishment of two new leading companies will require numerous technology decisions.

Description and Primary Duties

The Planner coordinates and tracks all plans across the CH Tech Owned Apps portfolio of separation activities:

• Takes ownership for the CH Tech Owned Apps workstream Microsoft Project Online (MSPO) instance

o Ensures the content is accurate, comprehensive, and adheres to the format requirements set out by the Process and Systems PMO

o Manages relationship with the Process and Systems PMO team with regards project planning

• Works with Tech Functional Leads (five individuals and their two supporting Project Managers) and the I&P Lead, as well as three Regional Leads

o Supports the development of detailed plans for the ~400 applications across the workstream’s portfolio

o Assists in identifying, agreeing and managing dependencies within the workstream and with other workstreams across the separation programme

o Agrees the appropriate cadence of updates for each application with its accountable owner and establishes ways of working to align to this agreed cadence

o Enters updates to the milestones and activities in the MSPO as a result of updates from lower level plans

• Reports into the CH Tech Owned Apps Lead

o Acts as eyes and ears for undetected risks and issues within planning and delivery of application separation

o Works relatively autonomously, establishing a framework for his/her work, whilst providing regular formal and informal updates


Required Skills / Experience

The holder of this role will require the following:

• Generalist understanding of IT and the organisations that support it within a global organisation

• Excellent Microsoft Project skills including experience with Project Online

• Excellent general project management skills

• Ability to cope with uncertainty and will a fast-paced, at times chaotic, environment

• Ability to see and track critical path actions without necessarily understanding the finer / more technical aspects of discussion

• Willing to ask for help when needed

• Comfortable / able to form working relationships with stakeholders from around the globe at all levels of the organisation
