Senior Business Change & Adoption Manager

Business Change & Adoption expertise is required to help deliver the opportunities we see to design both new companies for their portfolio, pipeline and footprint.

Job Purpose

The role of the Business Change & Adoption (BC&A) Manager is to design the required change and adoption approach for the function/area they are assigned to, using the guidelines and tools provided to successfully deliver and deploy the specific changes within that function, and manage the impact on the (internal) customers of their services.

The BC&A manager will ensure the business is engaged appropriately to understand the impact of the change, is readied to receive it, and has the support to adopt and embed the change to plan and quality, with minimal business disruption.

Working closely with other Business Change and Adoption leads, the BC&A manager will be responsible for developing and delivering appropriate change plans. Supporting the work of their function-specific comms lead with content creation, tactical planning and local implementation as needed and an engagement experience, always within the context of the broader communication strategy, priorities and channel plans set by Communication & Government Affairs.

The role requires close interaction with the impacted business stakeholders, project delivery team, CGA, HR, TL&OD, and the wider BC&A team. This role is required to be based in GSK House (Brentford, London) with potential for some limited travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and delivery of robust Change plans, including supporting communication, that are integrated with plans made by the global Transformation team and fully aligned with the ongoing priorities and plans of the function they support. Utilises core toolkit as a basis to create appropriately tailored and scaled plans for given area.

• Driving completion and maintenance of a high-quality Business Change Impact Assessment (BCIA) and Change Action Plan (including change embedding activities)

• Collaborating with other programmes to understand and mitigate the cumulative impact of change on individuals and teams

• Managing a complex stakeholder landscape (in line with overall programme)to ensure understanding, buy in, and a smooth path for project delivery. Engagement requirements may also include third party vendors and offshore business services centres.

• Facilitating change and engagement workshops

• Ensuring an appropriate network of change agents in place to support delivery of the change in their area

• Leveraging tools and capabilities to support leaders, managers, and employees through the change journey, ensuring a high-quality Employee Experience (EE), using Human Centric Design principles and tools

• Supporting the work of their function-specific comms lead with content creation, tactical planning and local implementation as needed

• Tracking and managing key change and communication metrics set out by global comms and change teams (including sentiment, change action plan completion, business readiness, change embedding measures, etc)

• Executing business readiness and embedding activities to measure whether impacted employees are ready for the change, and able to confirm the change embeds successfully

• Tracking and managing resilience, health and wellbeing for programme team and business users in partnership with HR and function comms lead

• Mitigation of Change risks and issues for their given area

• Driving a ‘can-do’ and continuous improvement culture and sharing good practice with broader programme
