Business Transformation Project Manager: R&D, Tech, Digital

Details:

  • The purpose of this role is to provide the project management skills, capabilities and discipline across the business project lifecycle with a clear business perspective for a) Business Change Projects and or b) Combined business and technology programmes. This will further enable R&D and the Change Delivery group to effectively and successfully drive change projects and programmes, major investments, organisational and or process change.
  • Drive and project manage global, cross-functional, business improvement programmes across the lifecycle of programmes / projects
  • For programmes with a technology components the coordination & integration with Tech PM in delivery of technologies to business requirements
  • Deliver measurable and sustained improvements to the execution of change projects primarily (but not exclusively) within the R&D arena.
  • Apply, propagate and embed appropriate PMO Project methodologies and best practice to assigned projects
  • May provide a level of project management coaching and development as required across project teams
  • Maintain a level of governance and control across the operations of the project
  • Enable the efficient and effective execution of Project, clear integrated plan to delivery, budget management, change control, risk management, resource management and stakeholder / team project reporting
  • Ultimately driving delivery-to- plan of change programmes
  • Ensure the project is set-up for success (i.e. clear roles and responsibilities; appropriate team structure)
  • Prepares and drives progress against overall project plan (working with Tech PM for Tech elements)
  • When required manages Business Project Spend against approved funding
  • Maintains Best practice in deliverable progress, decision tracking, risks management, budgets etc
  • Effective communication with business sponsors around status of project and any required interventions
  • Negotiate solutions and address emergent concerns with broad buy-in across key delivery partners
  • Ability to Formulate of Project delivery strategy, plan and schedule critical path analysis with ‘buy in’ across a matrix team.
  • To Manage and maintain resource demand aligned to agreed project plan,
  • To Manage and coordinate team members or larger, towards project delivery
  • Establish maintain and actively manage risk across project / programmes
  • For Project management issues drive cross-functional meetings towards actionable outcomes and resolution
  • Have fluency in GSK's R&D processes, and organisational structure
