ERP Value Optimisation Finance Partner

Location: Brentford, Middlesex

£375 - £435 per day (PAYE/Umbrella)

Background:

GSK’s global ERP Programme is one of the world’s largest SAP deployments. The programme is about more than just implementing an IT system, it is a truly global process transformation that is essential to GSK’s success that is visible to the most senior members of the organisation.

The objective of the Programme is to deliver standard commercial and manufacturing processes on a common SAP software platform. This is a key enabler for other strategic initiatives aimed at simplifying our operating model and standardising our approach on a global scale, such as the implementation of a Global Financial Services strategy and Transformation projects.

This role is responsible for partnering Tech Project teams delivering ERP related CAPEX projects, both operationally and from a financial perspective. This includes some M&A related projects, such as the integration of Pfizer employees onto GSK systems as part of the new Consumer Healthcare business.

This role needs to operate in a commercial and financial environment, to help deliver financial savings and commercial thinking, forecast project outturns as well as ensuring accounting principles are adhered to. The programme is migrating from a global deployment phase, into leveraging how to maximise the value of the system and deployment to tail markets. Budget management of the programme to deliver ERP to the remaining markets globally is a key responsibility for this role.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to challenge budget owners to deliver maximum return for the most cost-effective investment and produce highly accurate budgets.


Basic qualifications:

  • Must hold recognised finance qualification (ACCA/ACMA preferred), minimum 1-2 years post qualified
  • Significant experience of Finance Partnering and managing project budgets, ideally in a Tech environment
  • A deep understanding of and ability to calculate ROI, NPV and Payback and experience of populating cashflow models.
  • Strong excel modelling skills
  • Demonstrated capability to be able to operate in a commercial role, working closely with operational teams and delivering impacts to the bottom line. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Tech business partnering experience, specifically with regards to ERP deployments and transformation projects.
  • Capability to interpret financial results, within the commercial context to explain performance
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with commercial/ operational teams to drive value making decisions.
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills with stakeholders required

Details:

  • ERP Finance lead for budgeting, forecasting and tracking spend for all ERP funded CAPEX projects. This includes Commercial ERP for the Pfizer integration in Consumer Healthcare and delivery of ERP to remaining markets in GSK.
  • Responsible for ensuring that accurate NPV, ROI and Payback calculations are developed for each project and used for purposes of investment decision making. Ensure that the project remains on track to deliver those.
  • Be the CAPEX project & Competency Centre cost controller vs budget, ensuring both financial and policy compliance.
  • Produce the monthly CAPEX reporting pack according to prescribed month-end timelines – to include spend versus target plus monthly latest estimate updates.
  • Responsible for meeting all applicable SOX and controls framework requirements related to CAPEX projects.
  • Ensure all project resources correctly reported against the relevant project codes and produce any required accruals in accordance with prescribed month-end timelines.
  • Coordinate with business partners to track financial progress / maintenance of the costs to complete (spend outlook).
  • Provide management with clear, concise and meaningful reporting and analysis; communicate appropriate explanation for exceptions and variances.

Delivery Expectations:

  • Deliver Month-end close in accordance to prescribed timelines and controls requirements.
  • Clear/concise communications on financial and operational topics
  • Presentations to management to update on progress/ guide decision making
  • Develop budget / forecasts for CAPEX projects monthly or quarterly as required
  • Work with Project teams quarterly to deliver accurate spend tracking and forecasting for EVOB and Big Room Planning (both financial and value delivery updates)
  • Develop significant knowledge of the major projects and raise awareness of any financial risks/issues and ensure resolution in a timely manner.
